DCI Job Requirement for:
Network Automation Engineer
Location: Chantilly, VA
Job Description:
• Serve as a Network Automation Engineer
• Play a key role in driving next-gen networks to support enterprise IT workloads
• Join a diverse team of engineers to design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure
• Automate the deployment and support of critical network infrastructure
◦ Including interacting with network HW and enterprise SW-defined control planes
• Perform high-quality network and systems operations, including:
◦ Deployments, scaling, technology refresh, sustaining engineering
◦ Best practices applications, optimization
◦ Internal/external customer interactions
◦ Technical documentation production
• Create and implement changes through automation
• Operate and trouble-shoot a wide range of issues, including:
◦ Network routing, interconnectivity, performance, and configuration issues
• Drive/support innovation from Top of Rack to Network Border and everything between
• Work with the Network Architect to ensure fast, smooth roll-out of designs/ product
Qualifications:
• Proficient in either Python or Go programming language
• Ability to use Python/Ansible to develop automation scripts/configuration frameworks
• Experience working with networking protocols and APIs
◦ ideally Open vSwitch/any RESTful APIs for network devices and services
• Proficient in network topologies and architecture (VLAN, LAN, WAN)
• Experience with SONiC and Cumulus Network Operating System (NOS)
• Experience in rail-optimized technology
• Experience with key Kubernetes networking concepts
• Experience using the Kubernetes Container Network Interface (CNI)
• Familiarity with configuring, deploying, and maintaining the MetalLB Operator
◦ For traffic load balancing on bare metal clusters
• Experience designing, deploying, and troubleshooting enterprise WAN architectures
◦ Using core routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP), MPLS, and overlay networks
• Experience configuring/managing enterprise-grade Software-Defined WAN platforms
• Experience implementing secure transport connectivity across WAN boundaries,
• Ability to lift up to 50lbs
