Clearance: Secret
Must-Haves:
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• IAT Level II Certification or higher (Security+, CISSP, etc.)
• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years of relevant experience (or Master's and 10+ years)
• Extensive experience designing and implementing enterprise network security architectures
• Experience serving as a senior technical lead over network/security engineering teams
• Experience leading security engineering projects from planning through production implementation
• Hands-on experience with: Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW), IDS/IPS platforms,VPN and encryption technologies,TLS inspection/proxy technologies, Network Access Control (NAC)
• Strong experience with network segmentation and secure connectivity initiatives
• Deep understanding of: TCP/IP,Routing and switching,VLANs,DNS/DHCP/IPAM,NAT,QoS, Cloud-connected and software-defined networking
• Hands-on experience with at least two of: Palo Alto,Cisco, Aruba, Dell, Infoblox, or Brocade
• Experience with NIST, RMF, FedRAMP, FISMA, DISA STIGs, and DoD cybersecurity requirements
• Experience developing architecture documentation, implementation plans, and technical diagrams

Job Description:
Insight Global is seeking a Principal Network Security Engineer to sit at Fort Meade. This candidate will serve as the senior technical authority responsible for designing, engineering, and implementing enterprise-scale network security solutions across a large and highly secure environment. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in network security architecture, segmentation, next-generation firewalls, network access control, Zero Trust initiatives, and secure cloud connectivity. This individual will assess current-state security posture, define future-state architecture, and lead implementation teams through complex modernization efforts. The role requires a hands-on technical leader who can balance architecture, engineering, cybersecurity compliance, and operational execution while driving mission-critical security improvements in a highly regulated DoD environment.
