Description:
Are you a mission-driven security professional who thrives in a high-tempo, critical environment? The SSO is seeking an energetic, detail-oriented Security Specialist to joint our Personnel Security branch. In this role, you will guide military, civilian and contractor personnel through the SCI lifecycle - from initial vetting and indoctrination to ongoing monitoring, reporting and final debriefs. Ideal Candidate:
- SPED SFPC within 24 months of appointment
- Public speaking and articulate communication
- Customer service focus
- Experience with Defense Information System for Security (DISS)
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Suite

Key Skills and Abilities:
1. Knowledge of information, industrial, personnel, and physical security concepts, principles, and practices to plan and implement security programs in these areas.
2. Knowledge of required security training concepts, programs, procedures, and practices to assist managers in establishing and operating internal security programs.
3. Skill in developing, analyzing, and evaluating security programs to meet mission requirements and improve the security program for the installation.
4. Ability to communicate orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and accurately.
5. Ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.

• Must be a U.S Citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret /SCI security clearance.
• This position has been designated for drug testing. Incumbent is subject to random urinalysis testing as a condition of employment.
• Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise
• Employee may be required to work extended or other than normal duty hours to include evenings and weekends and may be subject to recall.
• This position will close after 5 business days or 75 applications, whichever comes first.
• Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
• Subject to Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY): Approximately 15 days per year.
• PCS /relocation funding is authorized and may be made available.
• Department of Defense Security Fundamentals Professional Certification, Security Asset Protection Professional Certification, and Physical Security Certification conferrals are required within 2 years of the established employee EOD
