System Administrator II - Social Media Services

Job Description

SALARY RANGE $140,000 - $200,000/year.

DUTIES As a successful candidate for the System Administrator II role, you will help design the architecture and develop solutions to meet organizational needs. Looking for an innovative, motivated individual to join a small, talented, and hardworking Linux team in a hybrid cloud environment. This team creates, maintains, and troubleshoots Linux instances on multiple networks, in multiple architectures. The ideal candidate will have hands-on Linux administration and scripting automation experience. Knowledge of AWS Cloud technologies is a plus. Must work well in a small team setting, have a desire to automate processes where possible, and a willingness to think outside the box to find solutions.

• Linux administration experience including configuring, monitoring, troubleshooting, etc.
• Experience deploying COTS/FOSS services on Linux systems
• Experience creating, debugging, and implementing Bash, Python, Puppet, and/or Ansible automation scripts
• Experience working with diverse teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues
• Self-motivated and willing to learn new technologies
• Ability to communicate issues with team members and/or service owners
• Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting and maintenance of IT systems
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
• Manage the daily activities of configuration and operation of IT systems
• Provide assistance to users in accessing and using IT systems
• Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis and resolution of problems
• Provide support to IT systems including day-to-day operations, monitoring and problem resolution for all of the client/server/storage/network devices, mobile devices, etc
• Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to agency management and internal customers
• Optimize system operations and resource utilization, and perform system capacity analysis and planning
• Provide in-depth experience in trouble-shooting IT systems
• Provide detailed analysis and feedback to agency management and internal customers for escalated tickets
• Provide support for the dispatch system and hardware problems and remains involved in the resolution process
• Configure and manage UNIX and Windows (or other applicable) operating systems and installs/loads operating system software, troubleshoot, maintain integrity of and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance

QUALIFICATIONS Ten (10) years of experience as an SA in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity is required. A bachelor's degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university is required. Five (5) years of additional SA experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree.

CERTIFICATIONS Compliance with DoD 8570.01-M with a minimum certification of IAT Level II (e.g., Security+, CCNA)

Desired Skills

• Experience with AWS, specifically EC2 Auto Scaling
• Experience with aws-cli and boto3
• Ability to work in a team and mentor junior staff
