Description:
We are seeking a highly experienced Cryptography Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Laurel, MD. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cryptographic principles, algorithms, and protocols, with the ability to apply this knowledge to complex security challenges.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement cryptographic solutions to protect sensitive data and systems.
• Conduct cryptographic assessments and audits to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to software developers, security engineers, and other stakeholders.
• Design and evaluate cryptographic protocols for secure communication and data integrity.
• Stay current with emerging cryptographic technologies and threats, and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cryptography into software and system designs.
• Mentor and guide junior cryptographic engineers and developers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cryptography, with a strong focus on algorithm design and implementation.
• In-depth knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric cryptographic algorithms, including AES, RSA, ECC, and hash functions.
• Experience with cryptographic libraries and frameworks such as OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle, and Crypto++
• Strong understanding of cryptographic protocols, including TLS, IPsec, and PKI.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about complex security issues.
• Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with quantum-resistant cryptography and post-quantum algorithms.
• Knowledge of hardware security modules (HSMs) and secure enclaves.
• Experience with cryptographic key management and lifecycle processes.
• Familiarity with cloud security and cryptographic solutions in cloud environments.
