Description:
We are seeking a highly qualified Cryptography Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Laurel, MD. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of cryptographic principles, algorithms, and their practical applications in securing information systems.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement cryptographic solutions to protect sensitive data and ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability.
• Conduct cryptographic assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with software developers, system architects, and security teams to integrate cryptographic protocols into applications and infrastructure.
• Provide expert guidance and training on cryptographic best practices and compliance standards.
• Stay current with emerging cryptographic technologies and threats, and recommend updates to existing systems.
• Support incident response and forensic investigations related to cryptographic breaches.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cryptography, with a strong focus on symmetric and asymmetric encryption, hash functions, and digital signatures.
• In-depth knowledge of cryptographic standards such as AES, RSA, ECC, SHA-2, SHA-3, and PKI.
• Experience with cryptographic libraries and tools (e.g., OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle).
• Strong understanding of secure coding practices and common cryptographic pitfalls.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex cryptographic concepts into practical solutions.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with quantum-resistant cryptography and post-quantum algorithms.
• Knowledge of cryptographic protocols used in secure communication (e.g., TLS, IPsec, SSH).
• Familiarity with cloud security and cryptographic solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience working with federal or defense contractors on classified projects.
