The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD automation, GitOps, and security integration throughout the software development lifecycle. This role will work closely with software engineers, security teams, and platform stakeholders to deliver secure, reliable, and scalable applications across multiple environments.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
3+ years of experience in DevOps, DevSecOps, Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, or a related role.
Strong experience working in Linux-based development and operational environments.
Hands-on experience with Docker and containerized application development and deployment.
Experience deploying, configuring, and troubleshooting applications in Kubernetes environments.
Experience developing and maintaining Helm charts and Kubernetes manifests for microservices and platform components.
Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD or similar platforms to automate application builds, testing, security scanning, packaging, and deployment.
Experience with Git-based development workflows and GitOps deployment practices, including tools such as Argo CD.
Experience automating application deployments, environment configuration, infrastructure, and operational processes.
Familiarity with integrating security controls into CI/CD pipelines, including source code, dependency, container image, and vulnerability scanning.
Understanding of distributed systems networking, TLS, DNS, ingress, service discovery, authentication, authorization, and secrets management.
Familiarity with application monitoring, centralized logging, metrics, tracing, and health monitoring.
Strong troubleshooting, scripting, communication, and collaboration skills.
Ability to support the program in the Fort Bragg, NC area. 3-4 days onsite.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience building and operating Kubernetes platforms supporting multiple independently deployed microservices.
Advanced experience designing reusable CI/CD and GitOps workflows using GitLab, Helm, and Argo CD.
Experience supporting Go (Golang) and React/TypeScript applications in containerized development and deployment environments.
Experience implementing software supply chain security practices, including Software Bill of Materials (SBOM) generation, dependency analysis, vulnerability scanning, and policy enforcement.
Experience hardening container images and remediating vulnerabilities across application dependencies, base images, and infrastructure components.
Experience implementing Zero Trust security principles, including role-based, attribute-based, or relationship-based access control.
Familiarity with identity, authentication, authorization, and policy enforcement tools such as Keycloak, Open Policy Agent (OPA), and OpenFGA.
Experience implementing secure secrets and configuration management across development environments, CI/CD pipelines, and Kubernetes.
Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, or similar technologies.
Experience supporting environments with restricted network access, multiple security boundaries, or stringent security and compliance requirements.
Experience participating in architecture and engineering reviews focused on security, reliability, automation, and maintainability.
Ability to develop simple, reusable platform tooling that enables engineering teams to deploy and operate applications securely and efficiently.
