Job Description
SABG is hiring a full-time Artificial Intelligence Strategist (SME) to support USSTRATCOM/J57 in advancing the strategic adoption of artificial intelligence (AI). The AI Strategist will align mission needs, analytic workflows, and emerging technologies with Department-level policy; assess emerging AI technologies, models, and analytic approaches for relevance to strategic deterrence, global integration, and long-range planning; and identify opportunities to incorporate AI into existing analytic tools, workflows, and methodologies while ensuring transparency, reliability, and mission suitability. This role functions as a technical-minded integrator rather than a primary software developer.
This position is contingent upon contract award.

LOCATION: USSTRATCOM, Offutt AFB, NE
RESPONSIBILITIES
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
At a minimum, the ideal candidate will meet the following experience requirements (candidates that exceed these requirements are strongly preferred):
SUPERVISION : This position will support USSTRATCOM/J57 and may coordinate with Government personnel, operational and strategic planners, wargame participants, interagency stakeholders, Combatant Commands, Joint Staff, Service components, allies, and other mission partners in support of wargaming and experimentation activities.
Additional Qualifications:
SYSTEM KNOWLEDGE: AI and machine-learning concepts and tools; data analytics and data-governance practices; Microsoft Office Suite; and standard Government analytic, collaboration, presentation, and decision-support tools.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret DoD AI policy, Responsible AI guidance, technical documentation, model information, data-governance requirements, and strategic planning materials. Ability to communicate AI opportunities, limitations, risks, and integration recommendations clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to understand and apply quantitative reasoning relevant to data analytics, machine-learning concepts, model behavior, data quality, model limitations, and evaluation of advanced analytic methods.
REASONING ABILITY: Ability to assess emerging technologies against mission requirements, evaluate model and data limitations, identify suitable integration opportunities, and balance operational relevance with transparency, reliability, policy, and governance requirements.
TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS : CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required in support of task order activities. Contractor personnel may be required to travel as passengers on military transportation into non-hostile areas. All travel is subject to Government approval and applicable Joint Travel Regulation requirements.
SECURITY REQUIREMENTS
Must be a U.S. citizen
Must possess, at task order award or before commencement of work/replacement approval, a Top Secret (TS) security clearance with eligibility for SCI, NC2, and SAP accesses
Must comply with the task order DD Form 254 and all applicable USSTRATCOM security instructions, including cybersecurity and physical security requirements
Must comply with USSTRATCOM in-processing/out-processing procedures and applicable Privacy Act and nondisclosure requirements

WORK ENVIRONMENT : Work is primarily performed at USSTRATCOM, Building 1000, Offutt AFB, Nebraska, with access to classified and unclassified Government facilities, systems, and networks. Off-site or remote work may be authorized by the Government for situational conditions. Personnel must provide exercise and contingency support and complete required annual training to maintain necessary access and certifications.

- Identify opportunities to incorporate AI into existing analytic tools, workflows, and methodologies while ensuring transparency, reliability, and mission suitability.
- Support the evaluation of AI-enabled capabilities for potential integration into deterrence analysis, wargaming, and analytic agenda products across the task order.
- Prepare reports and presentation materials documenting AI assessment findings, integration recommendations, and governance considerations in accordance with contract deliverable requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
At a minimum, the ideal candidate will meet the following experience requirements (candidates that exceed these requirements are strongly preferred):
- Minimum 2 years of experience, or demonstrated working knowledge, applying AI, data analytics, or other advanced analytic methods within DoD, the Intelligence Community, or federal environments, including work supporting strategic planning or operational analysis.
- Experience evaluating or integrating emerging technologies into mission workflows, analytic tools, or decision-support processes.
- Demonstrated knowledge of machine-learning concepts, model behavior, data quality, and model limitations.
- Ability to apply DoD AI policy, Responsible AI principles, and data-governance requirements to guide responsible integration.
- DoD or Federal AI/machine learning certifications are highly desired.
