SECURE HALO: Network Engineer (Junior and Mid-Level)

We are currently looking for a Junior & Mid-Level Network Engineer to join our team.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Network Engineer to join our security-focused infrastructure team.
The ideal candidate will independently manage complex routing and switching environments
across multiple network enclaves, maintain compliance with federal security standards, and serve
as a technical resource for day-to-day network operations. This position requires full on-site
presence and occasional travel to support multi-location network infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
Network Infrastructure Management
• Design, implement, and maintain enterprise routing and switching solutions across
classified and unclassified enclaves
• Troubleshoot complex Layer 2/Layer 3 network issues independently with minimal
supervision
• Configure and maintain core, distribution, and access layer switches and routers
• Manage VLANs, OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, STP, and related protocols
• Perform regular network assessments and capacity planning
Security & Compliance
• Ensure all network configurations comply with NIST 800-53 control requirements
• Collaborate with security teams on firewall rule reviews and change management
• Participate in vulnerability remediation and patch management cycles
• Maintain audit-ready documentation for all network changes and configurations
Systems & Storage
• Administer Linux-based systems and troubleshoot OS-level network connectivity issues
, • Manage and maintain Network Attached Storage (NAS) devices
• Monitor and optimize storage network performance
Operational Excellence
• Document network architectures, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours incident response
• Provide Tier 3 escalations support for junior staff
• Evaluate and recommend new technologies and tools
Required Qualifications
Experience
• Minimum 5 years (mid-level) or 2 years (junior level) of hands-on network engineering
experience
• Proven ability to work unsupervised on critical infrastructure
• Experience managing multiple network enclaves (classified/unclassified separation)
• Demonstrated track record of independent problem-solving and issue resolution
Preferred Certifications
Subject Matter Preferred Certifications
IAT Level 2 Must meet DoD 8570/8140 baseline (e.g., Security+, GICSP, CCNA Security,
SSCP)
Networking CCNA or equivalent vendor-neutral networking certification
Security CompTIA Network+ AND CompTIA Security+
Cloud Associate-level cloud certification (AWS Solutions Architect Associate, Azure
Administrator, or Google Cloud Professional)
Note: IAT Level 2 certification may overlap with the Security+ requirement if already held.
Clearances
• Active TS/SCI clearance required (must be able to maintain)

• Proficiency with Linux operating systems (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise firewalls (Palo Alto, Cisco ASA/Firepower, Fortinet)
• NAS administration and SAN/NAS integration
• Familiarity with NIST 800-53 controls and FISMA compliance frameworks
Education
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or
equivalent experience
Location & Travel Requirements
• Full on-site presence required at primary location
• Travel up to 25% of time to other facility locations as business needs dictate
• Must be able to obtain/maintain access credentials at all assigned sites
Additional Requirements:
• Must have a valid Driver’s License
• Must have the ability to lift up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $160,000 annually (This salary range reflects both junior and mid-level
roles. Final compensation will be based on relevant experience, certifications, education, and
overall qualifications.)
