Position: Senior Cyber Analyst
Location: Hampton, VA
Clearance: Secret
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
• Active DoD Secret Clearance
• Bachelor's Degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience)
• Minimum 10 years of Cybersecurity experience
• Experience conducting Cyber Risk Assessments and Security Control Assessments
• Strong knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF)
• Experience supporting Security Control Assessors (SCA) and/or Authorizing Officials (AO)
• Experience reviewing security documentation and technical artifacts
• Extensive hands-on experience using eMASS
• Familiarity with:
o NIST SP 800-53
o DoDI 8510.01
o AFI 17-130
JOB DESCRIPTION
Insight Global is seeking a qualified Sr. Cyber Analyst in support of one of our large federal clients in Hampton, VA. This candidate will support the Department of the Air Force Enterprise Authorizing Official (EAO) organization and be responsible for conducting cybersecurity risk assessments, evaluating security control implementations, analyzing residual risk, and supporting Risk Management Framework (RMF) activities across Air Force systems. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience supporting RMF assessments, Security Control Assessor (SCA) activities, eMASS reviews, and DoD cybersecurity authorization processes while maintaining strong knowledge of NIST 800-53, DoDI 8510.01, and AFI 17-130 requirements. Their day-to-day will include but is not limited to:
Conduct cybersecurity risk assessments for Department of the Air Force (DAF) systems, reviewing RMF authorization packages, security documentation, and technical artifacts to identify vulnerabilities and determine residual risk.
Validate security controls and evaluate mitigation strategies while providing risk-based recommendations to support authorization decisions.
Review and provide input on SARs, POA&Ms, Risk Assessment Reports, test results, system security documentation, and non-compliance reports utilizing eMASS extensively.
Collaborate with system owners, engineers, SCAs, cybersecurity SMEs, and leadership to support multiple concurrent assessments and ensure compliance with quality and performance standards.
Communicate assessment findings, cybersecurity risks, and recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Mentor junior analysts and support process improvement initiatives, training development, and program execution efforts.
Compensation:
$110k to $129k per year annual salary.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.
