Responsibilities
- Provide customer support, assistance, and orientation user guides, or customer information handouts.
- Manage workload to ensure all issues are resolved while troubleshooting and re-solving critical IMIT issues.
- Troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software, hard drives, processors, NICs, monitors, servers (on-prem or cloud).
- Assess performance of workstations and implement maintenance and procedures to maximize performance.
- Maintain software list, licensing information, and installed locations.
- Maintain a precise inventory of all equipment.
- Perform duties as an Enterprise Manager for account creation in Defense Enterprise Provisioning Online and similar systems.
- Support network configurations and connectivity requirements for user adds, changes and moves.
- Works independently in building, patching, tests (check for compatibility issues, conducts QA) and deploys complex systems and platforms meeting clients' needs and specifications.
- Leads in planning and implementing changes to infrastructure with the goal of enhancing performance.
- Performs storage and server data backup, data migration and disaster recovery operations.
- Performs software and operating system upgrades and track system licensing.
- Configures security settings or access permissions for groups and individuals.
- Provides technical support to users by troubleshooting problems related to network or platform performance.
- Documents complex procedures and troubleshooting procedures related to systems/networks software and hardware.
- Leads the configuration and maintenance of office and/or production software, adjunct support and/or utility software, i.e Virus malware protection, office application suites and/or application software.
- Works with Business Applications, vendors, consultants, contractors, and IT personnel from other Bureaus, Divisions, and Departments.
- Provides technical guidance and assistance to other Engineers and Administrators.
Qualifications
- Shall have (at minimum) an associate's degree (preferably in computer science, engineering, information science, information science, information science, information science, information systems management, mathematics, operations research, statistics, or technology management) or degree that provided a minimum of 12 semesters hours in one or more of the fields identified above.
- Shall possess at a minimum 1 current industry certified information technology certification or able to obtain within 12 months of employment.
- Shall have 3 + years' experience in desktop support, database management, and network management.
- The IT Specialist shall maintain all current professional certifications and licenses as required in this contract to perform work during the execution of this contract to include maintaining DoD 8570 Information Assurance Training IAT Level I (A+CE, CCNA-Security, CND, Network+ CE, SSCP).
- Active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain one.
