About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer II to support the design, analysis, testing, and certification of advanced aerospace and defense structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in structural analysis, metallic and composite structures, and aerospace engineering principles.
This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge aerospace programs while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
Support the design and analysis of advanced metallic and composite structures.
Perform detailed structural analyses and identify opportunities for design improvements.
Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate structural solutions into larger systems.
Develop, review, and execute structural test plans.
Generate and review technical documentation, including analysis reports, drawings, and test reports.
Participate in design reviews, customer meetings, and occasional travel in support of engineering activities.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
6+ years of experience in structural engineering or a closely related field.
Strong knowledge of structural analysis and design fundamentals.
Experience performing Static Analysis.
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) tools.
Knowledge of Computer-Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.
Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary engineering teams.
Strong technical communication and problem-solving skills.
Must be a U.S. Citizen.
Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Aerospace and Defense industry experience.
Experience performing classical structural analysis using hand calculations.
Familiarity with fatigue and damage tolerance analysis.
Experience with NASGRO and/or AFGROW.
Knowledge of FAA, NASA, and/or DoD design requirements and regulations.
Experience supporting structural testing and certification activities.
