Job Description

The Stock Clerk serves as a member of a team supporting a Department of the Navy Supply Department supporting operations in Coranado Naval Base. The Supply Clerk performs a wide range of warehouse, inventory, and material management functions. This position is responsible for receiving, storing, issuing, and tracking equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, foodstuffs, tools, and government managed property within stockrooms, warehouses, and storage yards. The Stock Clerk ensures accuracy of inventory records, proper stowage, and compliance with all authorized property management systems. This role directly assists the Government lead and reports inventory status and completion to a Government Property Officer (APO).

Responsibilities

  • Core Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Manage shipping, receiving, requisition and turnover of material for the organization.
  • Receive, sort, weigh, and verify incoming materials (Operational Consumables) against requisitions and invoices.
  • Examine stock for conformance to specifications and identify discrepancies.
  • Receive, stow, issue, and transfer materials; ensure all transactions are accurately posted in approved property management systems.
  • Process and dispose of excess materials
  • Compile reports related to stock usage, equipment handling, inventory count adjustments, spoilage or damage, location changes, and shipment refusals.
  • Mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on stock items when required.
  • Conduct minor adjustments or repairs to stocked items.
  • Cut stock to size to fulfill specific orders when necessary.
  • Track and retain all warehouse material records, including logs and signed receipts.
  • Generate and process shipping documents via FedEx or other third-party systems.
  • Research and resolve issues involving incoming or frustrated material.
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE); forklift license required.
  • Maintain Key Supporting Documentation for all accountable property and conduct required inventories and quality assurance checks.
  • Perform causative research and validate data discrepancies or missing property issues.
  • Develop and submit weekly status reports documenting asset status, material condition, and on hand inventory.

Qualifications

  • HS Diploma/GED or 2 years of similar work experience.
  • Active SECRET clearance.
  • OSHA or equivalent forklift license.
