Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Cybersecurity Engineer to lead the engineering strategy, modernization, integration, and sustainment of enterprise cybersecurity capabilities supporting a mission-focused federal environment.

This position serves as the senior technical authority responsible for cybersecurity engineering activities across a large-scale program. The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, drive technology modernization initiatives, oversee the design and implementation of complex cybersecurity solutions, and serve as the primary technical advisor for cybersecurity engineering matters.

The ideal candidate possesses deep expertise in cybersecurity architecture, systems engineering, enterprise modernization, cloud technologies, and large-scale government cybersecurity programs.

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the senior technical lead for cybersecurity engineering efforts across the program.
- Provide engineering expertise supporting the design, development, implementation, operation, integration, and sustainment of enterprise cybersecurity services.
- Lead the modernization of cybersecurity technologies, architectures, and infrastructure.
- Research, evaluate, and recommend advanced security capabilities, processes, and technologies.
- Develop solution architectures and implementation strategies for complex cybersecurity initiatives.
- Provide expert-level systems engineering, systems integration, and cybersecurity architecture guidance.
- Collaborate closely with program leadership, operations teams, stakeholders, and government customers to ensure cybersecurity solutions align with mission objectives.
- Drive innovation and continuously improve cybersecurity capabilities through emerging technologies and best practices.
- Lead technical planning, risk analysis, architecture reviews, and systems integration activities.
- Deliver executive-level briefings, technical recommendations, and strategic guidance to senior stakeholders.
- Support large-scale cybersecurity transformation and modernization efforts within complex enterprise environments.

Required Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a polygraph.
- Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Additional relevant cybersecurity experience may be substituted for formal education.
- Extensive experience engineering, architecting, designing, implementing, or operating enterprise cybersecurity technologies.
- Experience leading the design and implementation of large-scale cybersecurity programs and enterprise security solutions.
- Experience supporting complex, mission-critical government environments.
- Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience serving as a: Chief Engineer, Chief Architect, Engineering Manager, Technical Lead, or Functional Lead.
- Demonstrated experience modernizing enterprise cybersecurity systems and architectures.
- Strong experience presenting technical briefings and recommendations to executive leadership and senior stakeholders.
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity engineering principles, enterprise architectures, and security operations.

Required Certifications
- Candidates must possess certifications meeting:
-DoD 8140 / 8570 IAT Level III
-DoD 8140 / 8570 IASAE Level III
- Examples may include applicable certifications such as: CISSP, CASP+, ISSEP, ISSAP, CISM or other qualifying certifications meeting certification requirements.

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), or other highly secure federal environments.
- Experience leading cybersecurity engineering initiatives within large and complex enterprises.
- Cloud security experience supporting public, private, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Five or more years supporting cloud adoption, migration, and modernization efforts.
- Expertise in cybersecurity architecture, engineering, and operational security programs.
- Experience applying: Risk Management Framework (RMF), NIST Special Publications, CNSS 1253, ISO 20000 standards, Service management and capability maturity frameworks.
- Experience implementing secure systems engineering principles throughout the system lifecycle.
- Understanding of enterprise cybersecurity governance, compliance, authorization, and accreditation processes.
- Experience supporting modernization, digital transformation, and technology refresh initiatives.
