The position requires strong analytical skills, collaboration with subject matter experts, and hands-on laboratory experience.

What You Will Do
  • Evaluate drawings and specifications of incoming parts to determine appropriate packaging and handling requirements based on material characteristics.
  • Engage with subject matter experts to understand material usage, environmental sensitivities, and manufacturing considerations.
  • Review material documentation, specifications, and technical data sheets; develop recommendations based on engineering judgment.
  • Clearly document findings and support integration of packaging/handling requirements into formal coding and standards.
  • Follow established protocols and contribute to the development of new test plans, fixtures, and custom test setups.

As the project transitions to steady-state responsibilities, you will also:
  • Conduct hands-on material testing using standard laboratory techniques and equipment to verify compliance with required specifications.
  • Review Certificates of Analysis (COAs) and confirm adherence to material, chemical, and performance requirements.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies between COAs and specifications in collaboration with suppliers, quality, and engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of incoming inspections, validation activities, and material test results.

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field.
