Job Description

Our client is seeking a Senior Security Specialist – Physical Security (PHYSEC) for an upcoming proposal supporting the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter Joint Program Office (JPO) Security Services Contract. This senior-level position serves as a subject matter expert in physical security, providing comprehensive support for the protection of personnel, facilities, equipment, information, and resources supporting critical national defense programs. The successful candidate will independently execute physical security requirements, provide expert guidance to government and contractor stakeholders, and ensure compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) security policies and directives.
This role supports high-visibility and mission-critical program activities and requires the ability to work effectively with senior government officials, security professionals, and cross-functional program teams. The Senior Security Specialist – PHYSEC labor category requires the ability to comprehensively and independently fulfill Physical Security requirements associated with the IDIQ PWS and obtain a Physical Security Certification (PSC) within one year of hire. This position will be located in Arlington, VA. or at Wright-Patterson AFB in the Dayton, OH area and is structured as a full-time, 40-hour-per-week role. An active DoD Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Required (SAR) eligibility/access is required.

This is a proposal position and is contingent upon contract award, customer approval, and final staffing authorization.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the senior physical security subject matter expert supporting F-35 JPO security operations.
• Develop, implement, maintain, and assess physical security programs, policies, procedures, and protection plans.
• Conduct physical security inspections, surveys, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses for government facilities and controlled areas.
• Evaluate facility security requirements and recommend appropriate protective measures, access controls, intrusion detection systems, and security countermeasures.
• Review and coordinate facility accreditation packages and physical security documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable DoD, Department of the Navy, and program-specific physical security regulations and requirements.
• Advise government leadership on physical security risks, mitigation strategies, and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with facilities personnel, security managers, information security staff, and program stakeholders to ensure integrated security compliance.
• Develop reports, briefings, and security documentation for senior leadership.
• Support security audits, inspections, assessments, and program reviews.
• Provide mentoring and technical guidance to junior and mid-level security personnel.
• Support emergency planning, incident response activities, and continuity-related security requirements.

Required Qualifications
• Ability to comprehensively and independently fulfill Physical Security (PHYSEC) requirements and provide subject matter expertise in support of program objectives.
• Senior-level experience consistent with the labor category definition, including at least 10 years of experience performing work related to physical security, security operations, or a closely related security discipline.
• Master’s degree in a related discipline; or Bachelor’s degree plus four additional years of related experience in accordance with labor category substitution requirements.
• Experience developing, implementing, and evaluating physical security programs and protective measures.
• Experience conducting security assessments, inspections, and compliance reviews.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and provide guidance on complex security issues.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare executive-level briefings and documentation.
• Obtain a Physical Security Certification (PSC) within one year of hire.
• Active DoD Top Secret clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) and Special Access Required (SAR) eligibility/access is required.
• Will be required to sign Letter of Intent.

Preferred Qualifications
• Active Physical Security Certification (PSC).
• Experience supporting Major Defense Acquisition Programs (MDAPs) or Department of Defense program offices.
• Experience supporting classified facilities and sensitive government programs.
• Knowledge of facility accreditation processes, access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and force protection measures.
• Experience working within joint-service or large acquisition organizations.
• Experience coordinating with multiple security disciplines, including personnel security, industrial security, operations security, and program protection.
