GRVTY is seeking a Data Scientist - Sensor Systems Technician and Integration Engineer to support the installation, operation, and maintenance of advanced airborne mission equipment. This role combines hands-on technical experience with systems integration planning, IT network administration, and test execution for mission-critical aircraft platforms.
What You'll be Owning
- Flight & Ground Testing: Plan, configure, and execute ground and flight-test programs for complex Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) hardware and software systems to support troubleshooting, calibration, and certification
- Sensor Operation & Maintenance: Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot hyperspectral sensors (e.g., ACES Hy, Big Green, PeARL-High Resolution Imagery) and electro-optical/infrared (EO/IR) sensors (e.g., MX15, MX20)
- Mission Readiness: Perform pre-mission system checks, field-level diagnostics, and corrective maintenance to guarantee operational readiness
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with pilots, sensor operators, data scientists, and engineering teams to support accurate data collection and validate the integration of new hardware and software packages
- Technical Reporting: Provide detailed field reports and technical feedback to support root cause analysis, continuous system improvement, and lifecycle sustainment planning
- Engineering Support: Read, interpret, and advise mechanical and electrical engineers on complex schematics, drawings, and system networks (including IP addressing). Design and review network and interface block diagrams for mission-critical IT and aircraft systems infrastructure
- Safety & Compliance: Ensure all flight operations strictly adhere to FAA and DoD safety protocols, aviation regulations, and industry standards
What You Must Have
- Security Clearance: Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a SCI
- Experience & Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or a related field, with 8 years of experience supporting the design, integration, and test of ISR hardware and software systems on militarized aircraft
- Technical Expertise: Demonstrated hands-on experience operating and maintaining EO/IR systems and a strong working knowledge of Hyperspectral Imaging (HSI) fundamentals
- System Administration: Proven ability to execute software loads, firmware updates, and configuration changes within controlled baseline environments.
- Diagnostic Skills: High proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics, wiring diagrams, and complex integration drawings
- Project Management: Strong track record of managing workloads, screening maintenance action forms, and coordinating efforts across multi-disciplinary teams
- Strategic Problem Solving: Demonstrated systems thinking with the ability to evaluate the second- and third-order impacts of operational decisions
- Leadership & Autonomy: Professional maturity, sound judgment, leadership potential, and the proven ability to operate independently with minimal oversight
What Would be Nice to Have
- Operational Experience: Accrued flight-hour experience directly supporting Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) missions
- Compliance Knowledge: Familiarity with configuration management principles and formal airworthiness approval processes
