Job Description:
FGS, LLC is seeking an experienced Application Developer to support a mission-critical Navy intelligence production and dissemination system. The selected candidate will design, develop, customize, integrate, troubleshoot, and sustain modern web applications and user-interface components in a classified Department of Defense environment.
The Application Developer will work with developers, systems engineers, administrators, cybersecurity personnel, mission users, and Government stakeholders to deliver responsive and reliable web capabilities. The position requires strong front-end development experience, familiarity with modern web frameworks and RESTful services, the ability to troubleshoot complex application workflows, and the communication skills necessary to translate technical architectures into actionable guidance and documentation.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Build, customize, test, and maintain responsive web pages, applications, and reusable user-interface components supporting Navy intelligence production and dissemination workflows.
• Develop and sustain front-end solutions using JavaScript and modern web technologies and frameworks such as Angular and Node.js; apply Python and/or Perl scripting where appropriate.
• Align application interfaces, web-design modules, and workflows with customer usability standards, operational requirements, and enterprise branding guidance.
• Integrate applications with JSON-based data exchanges, RESTful web services, APIs, and supporting enterprise services.
• Diagnose and resolve advanced application, workflow, connectivity, integration, and performance issues across modern web-production environments.
• Develop clean, scalable, maintainable code; perform debugging, testing, defect resolution, and technical validation of application changes.
• Collaborate across technical and mission teams and serve as a subject-matter resource capable of translating complex architectures and technical issues for developers, stakeholders, and senior officials.
• Develop and maintain technical specifications, standard operating procedures (SOPs), user guides, configuration information, and other required application documentation.
Required Qualifications:
• U.S. Citizenship.
• Active DoD Top Secret/SCI security clearance at the time of hire.
• Minimum eight (8) years of relevant experience in the design and development of web-based applications, consistent with the contract's Applications Developer (Level 3) labor category.
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in front-end web design, user-interface modules, web-framework architectures, debugging, testing, and development of complex software solutions.
• Proficiency with JavaScript and experience with Angular, Node.js, Python, Perl, and/or comparable scripting and application-development technologies.
• Solid working knowledge of JSON, RESTful web services, APIs, and application/system integration.
• Ability to diagnose and resolve complex workflow, connectivity, application, and integration issues.
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with developers, cross-functional stakeholders, mission users, and senior officials.
• DoD IAT Level II certification or higher. (Security+ CE, CISSP, or CASP, etc.)

Desired Qualifications:
• Experience developing applications supporting DoD, Department of the Navy, Intelligence Community, or other classified Government mission environments.
• Experience supporting intelligence production, dissemination, content-management, or mission-workflow applications.
• Experience developing and maintaining SOPs, user guides, technical specifications, and other lifecycle documentation.
• Experience working in integrated development teams using source control, issue tracking, automated build/deployment, or DevSecOps practices.

Security Clearance Requirements:
U.S. citizenship and an active DoD Top Secret/SCI clearance are required at the time of hire. The employee must maintain clearance eligibility throughout employment.

Physical, Work Environment & Conditions:
• Position supports daily operations in Suitland, Maryland, and onsite at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Washington, DC, for approximately 75% of work hours.
• Work is performed primarily in a professional office and secure-facility environment using standard information-technology equipment.
• Must be able to work at a computer for extended periods and communicate effectively with technical, mission, program, and senior leadership stakeholders.
• Occasional schedule flexibility or limited travel may be required to support integration, troubleshooting, deployment, or mission requirements.
