Job Description

Spacecraft Electrical Systems Engineer
Active TS/SCI. Five days onsite.
This role owns electrical systems for spacecraft bus and payloads, instruments, and ground systems. The
engineer defines, implements, and supports operation of those systems, and owns electrical requirements from
derivation through verification.
Scope
• Electrical systems support for definition, implementation, and operation of complex electrical systems,
including spacecraft bus and payloads, instruments, and ground systems
• Own and guide electrical requirements: ownership, stakeholders, derivation, allocation, verification, and
validation, plus analysis to show mission performance and utility
• Support planning, preparation, documentation, and execution of assembly, integration, test, and
verification through the design lifecycle
• Assist flow-down of electrical subsystem, box, and board-level requirements for space and ground
electronic architectures
• Develop and refine electrical interface control documents for space and ground architectures
• Power budget analysis, harness design, grounding diagram, EMI/EMC compliance, and compliance
analysis for environment, design, and test requirements
• Work across disciplines to develop electrical architectures, including electrical functional block diagrams
• Present to peers, management, and customers
• Support technical risk and opportunity assessments: impact, probability, mitigation, and opportunity
capture
• Orchestrate team tasks and clear blockers
• Work with internal and external customers in a cross-discipline environment
• Work with mechanical and thermal to develop box-level requirements
• Work with EMI/EMC and systems to keep requirements compliant
• Onsite five days a week
• Systems engineering tools and methods, specifically MBSE and Cameo
• Enough board-design depth to review digital, analog, power, FPGA, and packaging
• Enough space-electronics test knowledge to review the test teams
• Root of trust and chain of trust, and how that is implemented in firmware and software
Products
• Electrical systems content in the engineering system of record (ICDs, IBDs, and similar)
• Requirements compliance, tracing, and verification method from L5 to L2
• Development and ongoing support of electrical subsystem products through the program lifecycle
