About the role
Synergiq is hiring Oracle Database Developer at senior and lead levels to support a mission-critical Intelligence Community program. The team designs, migrates, secures, and modernizes Oracle Database environments, including Oracle AI Database 26ai on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), that power geospatial analytics and AI-enabled mission applications. Openings span four focus areas, and candidates are matched to the role that best fits their experience.
Focus areas
• Multimodel database and AI enablement (Senior Principal and Technical Manager): Architect Oracle solutions that combine relational, spatial, JSON (including JSON Relational Duality), and graph data, and enable AI use cases with vector data types, embeddings, RAG, and Model Context Protocol (MCP). Technical Manager candidates also lead design reviews and set database standards.
• Database migration (Senior Principal): Lead PostgreSQL-to-Oracle and on-premises-to-OCI migrations end to end, from discovery and schema/code conversion through cutover, reconciliation, and stabilization, using ZDM, Data Pump, GoldenGate, or comparable tools.
• Data pipeline and platform leadership (Technical Manager): Lead the architecture of pipelines that integrate structured, semi-structured, geospatial, and mission data into governed data products, including ingestion, transformation, quality, lineage, and monitoring patterns.
• Database security (Technical Manager): Architect and operate secure Oracle environments using Oracle Label Security and Virtual Private Database (VPD), role-based access, auditing, and privileged-access controls aligned to RMF and ICD 503.
What you'll do
• Design, build, tune, and operate Oracle Database environments for mission workloads, with responsibility for performance, availability, security, and recoverability.
• Develop secure, high-performing SQL, PL/SQL, schemas, packages, views, and data-access patterns for applications, analytics, and APIs.
• Model and index geospatial raster and vector data to support scalable spatial analysis.
• Plan and execute migrations, data validation, and reconciliation, and produce runbooks and cutover checklists.
• Partner with application, AI, data engineering, cloud, and security teams to turn requirements into maintainable designs.
• Document architectures, data models, and security designs, and brief risks and tradeoffs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Required qualifications (all openings)
• 8+ years of relevant experience (Senior Principal) or 10+ years (Technical Manager).
• Active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
• Demonstrated experience architecting, implementing, and optimizing Oracle Database solutions for complex enterprise or mission workloads.
• Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills, including schema design, performance tuning, and interface development.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle AI Database 26ai or recent Oracle Database releases, including data modeling, configuration, and access controls.
• Experience with geospatial intelligence data (raster and/or vector), including spatial data models, indexing, and queries.
• Ability to assess data quality, define test plans, reconcile source and target data, and diagnose functional and performance issues.
• Strong documentation, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Additional requirements by focus area
• Multimodel / AI enablement: Multimodel design across relational, spatial, JSON Relational Duality, and graph; hands-on vector, embedding, RAG, and MCP experience in Oracle Database.
• Migration: PostgreSQL-to-Oracle migration experience; on-premises or cross-cloud migration to OCI using ZDM, Data Pump, GoldenGate, or comparable tools with rollback and recovery planning.
• Pipeline and platform leadership: Proven leadership of data pipeline architecture and Oracle migrations to OCI; experience guiding engineers and leading technical design reviews.
• Security: Implementation and administration of Oracle Label Security and VPD; working knowledge of RMF and ICD 503, including control implementation, testing, and evidence; design of role-based access, auditing, and secure administration processes.
Preferred qualifications
• Working knowledge of OCI database deployment, networking, IAM, storage, monitoring, and key management.
• Experience with Oracle Exadata and/or OCI Autonomous AI Database on Exadata.
• RESTful API development and integration with Oracle API Gateway.
• Experience with Oracle Spatial and Spatial Studio, Oracle Graph and Graph Studio, Oracle APEX, or Oracle AI Database Agent Factory.
• Experience migrating JSON data from MongoDB or similar document stores into Oracle Database.
• Experience with dashboards and visualization tools such as Grafana, Oracle Analytics Cloud, or Oracle Analytics Server.
• Experience supporting authorization packages, control validation, or database security assessments in a regulated environment.
