Job Purpose:
- As a DevSecOps Engineer at Knight Federal Solutions Inc, you will be responsible for integrating security practices within the DevOps process, ensuring that security is a fundamental part of the software development lifecycle. You will leverage your extensive experience and expertise to protect and enhance the security posture of our systems, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, scalable, and efficient solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement and manage security measures within the DevOps pipeline to safeguard systems and applications.
- Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to automate security processes and integrate security tools.
- Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with security policies and standards.
- Develop and maintain security documentation, including policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents, providing timely and effective solutions.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends, technologies, and threats to proactively enhance security measures.
- Mentor and guide junior team members in best practices for DevSecOps.
- Ensure compliance with government regulations and standards, including maintaining TS SCI W/ CI Poly security clearance.
Qualifications
Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. A Master's degree is preferred.
Required Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in DevSecOps, software development, or cybersecurity engineering.
- Proven experience in implementing security measures and managing security tools within a DevOps environment.
- Must hold an active TS/SCI clearance with CI Polygraph.
- Experience in working with federal or defense contracts is highly desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in managing and automating infrastructure using tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or similar.
- Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and practices, including CI/CD pipelines, security automation, and infrastructure as code.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- In-depth knowledge of security protocols, cryptography, authentication, authorization, and security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to stay current with emerging security threats and trends, and to apply this knowledge to improve security posture.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
