Significance Inc. is seeking a Senior Oracle Database Administrator to support a long-term federal program with the Department of Energy (DOE). This role is fully remote.
The Senior Database Administrator will provide systems database administration support for DOE applications across all environments, including Development, Sandbox, Test, Performance, Training, and Production.
Additional Information:
U.S. Citizenship required. Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE Q Clearance.
This role is fully remote. Accessing DOE Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) or logging into the DOE network from outside the United States is strictly prohibited without proper authorization.
Critical Requirements (candidates must demonstrate hands-on experience in all four areas):
- Identity and Access Management: Hands-on experience setting up, configuring, and integrating Oracle Internet Directory (OID), Oracle Access Manager (OAM), and Oracle Single Sign-On (SSO), including integration with DOE OneID.
- Oracle AI Database 26ai: Hands-on experience installing, configuring, and administering Oracle AI Database 26ai in production and development environments.
- Data Warehouse and ETL: Hands-on experience supporting data warehouse environments and ETL processes, including related Oracle products (e.g., Oracle Data Integrator, OBIEE/Oracle Analytics).
- Oracle Fusion Middleware and WebCenter: Hands-on experience installing, patching, upgrading, and administering Oracle Fusion Middleware, including WebCenter Portal and WebCenter Content (UCM).
Key Responsibilities:
Provide database administration support for Oracle WebCenter Portal, DOE Budgeting System (Oracle Hyperion), DOE Financial System (Oracle EBS), and core databases supporting DOE applications.
Install, configure, and administer Oracle AI Database 26ai in production and development environments.
Design, set up, and advise on all aspects of Oracle SSO, OID, and OAM, including integration with DOE OneID.
Perform Oracle Fusion Middleware installations, patching, upgrades, troubleshooting, and maintenance, including WebCenter Portal and WebCenter Content (UCM).
Support data warehouse environments and ETL processes.
Recommend and implement database security, backup, recovery, redundancy, and disaster recovery strategies.
Implement automated monitoring and continuously monitor database storage, availability, performance, and system health.
In collaboration with the CBS and OCIO teams, perform database health checks and prepare quality assurance and performance reviews covering business requirements, testing, upgrades, architecture, and storage modifications.
Work independently to perform database performance analysis, capacity planning, system sizing, and ongoing maintenance.
Provide break/fix support, resolve production defects, and implement system stabilization changes.
Support remediation of cybersecurity findings.
Maintain system documentation, baseline configurations, SOPs, installation and upgrade documentation, security records, and event logs.
Support system owners and CBS security staff with annual Assessment and Authorization (A&A) and ATO activities.
Support internal and external data calls.
Review monthly/quarterly Oracle Critical Patch Updates (CPUs), provide feedback to system owners, and coordinate with system owners and OCIO on testing and implementation across all environments.
Required Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline with 8 years of relevant experience in Oracle Federal Financials and Oracle Hyperion. In lieu of a degree, 9–10 years of relevant experience is required.
Approximately two-thirds of the candidate's experience must be hands-on as a Database Administrator installing, configuring, and supporting Oracle OID, OAM, and SSO.
Strong understanding of Oracle databases, related utilities, and tools.
Strong experience with performance tuning and monitoring.
Knowledge of load balancers, storage, and cloud environments.
Working knowledge of Windows Server and IIS.
Strong knowledge of Oracle backup and recovery.
Understanding of Oracle security management and data integrity.
Experience with code migration, database change management, and data management throughout the development lifecycle.
Desired Skills:
Experience managing Oracle Hyperion implementations.
Oracle Autonomous Database Cloud Professional certification.
Experience with ServiceNow for incident, problem, and service request management.
Previous Department of Energy (DOE) experience.
Ability to analyze business and functional requirements and recommend optimal technical solutions.
$120,000 - $131,000 a year
At Significance, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package and is determined within a range. Our pay ranges are based on the local cost of labor benchmarks for each specific role, level, and geographic location.
