Security Project Manager

Overview.

We are seeking a highly skilled Security Project Manager to act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and business units. This role is responsible for developing program security roadmaps aligned with program goals and managing security programs from start to finish.

The ideal candidate is an experienced project management professional with a strong understanding of classified program operations, security requirements, cross-functional team leadership, and customer engagement within a fast-paced, mission-focused environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as a key contact for internal stakeholders and business units in support of security-related programs and initiatives.
• Develop security program roadmaps aligned with business objectives, compliance needs, and organizational priorities.
• Manage security programs from start to finish, including planning, coordination, resource management, progress reporting, and post-implementation review.
• Lead Agile-based program activities such as sprint planning, backlog coordination, team facilitation, and retrospectives.
• Track dependencies across teams and remove blockers to enable efficient delivery of security initiatives.
• Oversee security-related projects, including coordination of vendors, financial tracking, and operational support activities.
• Support compliance and audit activities by coordinating schedules, tracking requirements, and identifying risks or challenges.
• Build effective working relationships with business leaders, technical teams, and security stakeholders.
• Represent the program or security function in meetings with leadership and communicate complex issues in a clear, actionable manner.
• Assist with the deployment and adoption of new security tools, processes, and capabilities.
• Monitor and report on program health, team performance, milestones, and key metrics.
• Promote continuous improvement by incorporating lessons learned and improving program management processes.

Qualifications

• • Bachelor's degree in business, management, security studies, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of project or program management experience, including experience supporting classified or restricted programs.
  • Experience working in Special Access Program, SCI, or other highly controlled environments.
  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility.
  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, methodologies, and lifecycle management.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional teams and balancing competing priorities.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project scheduling/reporting tools.
  
  Preferred Qualifications
  
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience supporting Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, or other federal national security customers.
  • Familiarity with earned value management, risk management, and contract performance monitoring.
  • Experience with program security compliance, facility operations, or classified infrastructure.

Pay Transparency Statement

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners. The salary range for this position is USD $160,000.00/Yr. - USD $185,000/Yr. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors permitted by law.
