Quality Assurance QA Lead Tester

The Office of Inspector General (OIG), Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), provides comprehensive IT services supporting approximately 2,000 users across more than 60 global locations. OCIO sustains critical enterprise IT capabilities-including application services, mobile device management, IT asset management, domain services, network transport, and service desk operations-to support the OIG mission.

The Quality Assurance (QA) Lead/Tester provides comprehensive testing and quality assurance support for ServiceNow platform enhancements, custom development, integrations, releases, and solution-delivery activities. This role ensures that deployed functionality meets Government requirements, aligns with platform standards, and maintains reliability, accuracy, and performance across all ServiceNow environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop master test strategies, detailed test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and acceptance criteria.
• Maintain complete requirements-to-test traceability throughout development and release cycles.
• Execute functional, integration, regression, system, and release testing for ServiceNow platform and solution activities.
• Coordinate and support user acceptance testing (UAT), including test planning, execution, and defect tracking.
• Manage defects from identification through resolution and closure, ensuring retesting and validation of fixes.
• Establish quality gates, release-readiness criteria, and testing checkpoints for all solution releases.
• Support automated testing using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF) where appropriate.
• Validate technical documentation, deployment packages, and configuration artifacts prior to release.
• Report testing status, quality metrics, test coverage, defect trends, and release readiness to stakeholders.
• Coordinate testing dependencies across developers, product owners, architects, and Government teams.
• Ensure ServiceNow configurations, customizations, and integrations follow leading practices and quality standards.
• Support Agile delivery by participating in sprint planning, backlog refinement, demos, and retrospectives.
• Acts as team lead for Quality Assurance/Tester team.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance.
• IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent QA experience.
• 6+ years of experience in software testing, quality assurance, or IT quality management.
• Experience testing ServiceNow configurations, workflows, custom development, integrations, or platform enhancements.
• Strong understanding of QA methodologies, functional testing, integration testing, regression testing, and release validation.
• Experience managing defects, creating test documentation, and maintaining traceability in Agile environments.
• Strong communication and analytical skills with the ability to document issues clearly and collaborate across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience using ServiceNow Automated Test Framework (ATF).

• ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CAD, or testing-related credentials.

• Experience supporting federal IT programs.

• Familiarity with ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, CSDM/CMDB, integrations, and workflow designs.
• ISTQB certification.
