Job Description
In this role, you will provide full-spectrum Systems Engineering and Program Management support to the HH-60W Program Office. You will assist the engineering team by delivering a broad range of rotary-wing systems engineering services required to establish and sustain the HH-60W Air Force District of Washington mission.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Engineering & Integration
• Apply rotary-wing expertise across pre-acquisition definition, capabilities integration, and life-cycle procurement of avionics systems/subsystems hardware and software in compliance with Air Force regulations.
• Plan, organize, and execute critical aspects of rotary-wing capability development, production, and deployment while managing cost, schedule, performance, and risk.
• Facilitate integration, communication, and planning efforts across multi-disciplinary teams using agile development and rapid prototyping methods.
• Coordinate updates for acquisition milestone systems engineering documentation, including Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), System Requirement Verification (SVR) matrices, Requirements Traceability, and System Breakdown Structures.
• Support the System Incident Reporting (SIR) process by coordinating functional resources and tracking incidents through closure.
Program Management & Lifecycle Support
• Assist with full-spectrum contract actions, including pre-award documentation, source selection support, and post-award management.
• Support pre-acquisition and acquisition strategy planning, milestone tracking, schedule management, staff coordination, and decision documentation.
• Conduct data gathering, research, and analysis to evaluate and validate programmatic documentation and key program metrics.
• Assist in reviewing and analyzing prime contractor and subcontractor Earned Value Management Systems (EVMS).
• Help establish risk management plans, mitigation strategies, and executive-level program briefings.
• Assist Program Managers with High Performance Teams (HPTs) to resolve complex acquisition challenges via data-driven solutions.
Testing, Reviews, & Working Groups
• Support program compliance and documentation development for Developmental Test & Evaluation (DT&E), Operational Test & Evaluation (OT&E), and Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) reporting.
• Lead and participate in System Engineering Working Groups and Integrated Product Teams (IPTs).
• Participate in System Verification Reviews (SVR), Functional Configuration Audits (FCA), Physical Configuration Audits (PCA), DT&E, and Initial Operational Test & Evaluation (IOT&E) reviews to track entry/exit criteria, requirement verifications, and action items.
Required Qualifications
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizenship is required due to the sensitive nature of customer programs.
• Clearance: Active Secret Security Clearance.
• Education & Experience:
• ABET-accredited Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Avionics, Comm/Nav, Systems) plus 15+ years of relevant experience, OR
• Master’s Degree in Engineering plus 12+ years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of DoD-specific engineering experience.
• Technical Experience: Recent direct aircraft systems engineering experience.
Desired Qualifications
• Program Management (PM) experience.
• Aircraft structural engineering experience.
