Operating within DoD and Air Force instructions, the position exercises technical expertise to administer networks, maintain COMPUSEC/COMSEC compliance, configure hardware/software, and deliver 24/7 on-call user support.
Key Responsibilities
• Cybersecurity Posture & Compliance: Enforce AF cybersecurity regulations and publications. Validate compliance across COMSEC, COMPUSEC, and TEMPEST programs, while managing access control, vulnerabilities, and security A&A documentation.
• Incident Response & Risk Management: Initiate protective or corrective measures in response to cybersecurity incidents. Request exceptions or deviations and manage authorized network access documents.
• Linux & Systems Administration: Configure, troubleshoot, and maintain SuSE/Red Hat Linux systems, Windows 10 desktops, network hardware, and active directories.
• TS/SCI & Special Program Security: Support Information System Security Programs for high-level classified programs (TS/SCI/SAP), ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and availability. Infrastructure & Service Desk Support: Provide full-scope LAN, cellular, desktop, and hardware support.
• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotations with a 2-hour response window for critical issues.
• Strategic Planning & Procurement: Assist with financial planning, software license tracking, desktop purchasing, and long-term capability gap assessments across ACC.
• Policy Guidance & Training: Ensure user cybersecurity training compliance prior to system access. Provide technical security guidance to managers, staff, and external agencies.
Position Qualifications
• Education & Experience (Minimum Required) Experience: 1+ years of hands-on network/systems administration experience on SuSE or Red Hat Linux operating systems.
• Clearance: Active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance required on day one (interims or waivers are not permitted). Certifications:
• Valid Linux certification from a nationally recognized provider required on day one.
• Active CompTIA Security+ certification required on day one. Systems & Tools: Working knowledge of Windows 10, Microsoft Active Directory, and MS Office 365/2016 (Teams, Outlook).
Preferred Qualifications
• Strong practical background leaning toward hands-on Linux system administration over pure security theory.
