Position Title: Perception Engineer



Overview:

We are searching for a creative and analytically rigorous professional with experience
understanding, shaping, and in uencing how individuals, organizations, and adversaries
perceive information, develop narratives, organize information, or make decisions in complex
environments.

In this role, you will breakdown complicated systems and situations to develop sophisticated
perception-shaping frameworks intended to in uence how strategic competitors,
adversaries, and external audiences understand events, intentions, capabilities, and
operational environments. The position requires individuals who are comfortable operating
across both technical and human domains — integrating analytical rigor, creative problem
solving, behavioral insight, narrative construction, and operational awareness into cohesive
strategic outcomes.

You will work at the intersection of systems engineering, cognitive science, information
dynamics, behavioral analysis, operational design, media ecosystems, and strategic
communications. The role demands both structured analytical thinking and imaginative
exploration, requiring the ability to synthesize technical realities, cultural understanding,
human behavior, environmental conditions, and strategic objectives into integrated
perception-oriented approaches.

operations, intelligence, behavioral science, psychology, communications, media, systems
analysis, military operations, diplomacy, political science, or related elds. We value people

Quali cations:

• A Bachelor’s degree in systems engineering, psychology, cognitive science, political
science, communications, international relations, engineering, computer science, media
studies, sociology, applied mathematics, physics, journalism, anthropology, military
science, or related disciplines is required.

• Experience operating within complex human, informational, organizational, technical, or
operational systems is required.

, • Strong analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills, combined with creativity and
intellectual adaptability, are required.

• A TS//SCI with polygraph is highly desired. A willingness to conduct a full-scope
polygraph is required.

• Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills are highly desired,
including the ability to convey complex ideas to technical and non-technical audiences.

• Experience in one or more of the following areas is highly desired:

o Systems engineering or systems analysis

o Intelligence analysis or operational planning

o Behavioral science or cognitive psychology

o Strategic communications or narrative development

o Media production, information environments, or audience analysis

o In uence assessment or organizational dynamics

o Military, diplomatic, or national security operations

• A Master’s or PhD degree in the above disciplines is highly desired.

• Experience designing, analyzing, evaluating, or in uencing systems involving human
behavior, perception, information ow, decision-making, or strategic communication is
desired.

• A passion for continuous learning, intellectual curiosity, and unconventional problem
solving is desired.

• A strong understanding of the national security environment from diplomatic, military,
informational, economic, technological, and societal perspectives is desired.



Key Responsibilities:

Perception and Narrative Engineering:

• Design and develop sophisticated perception-oriented strategies intended to in uence
how external audiences interpret events, capabilities, intentions, environments, and
organizational actions.

• Identify and evaluate observable indicators, behavioral responses, and environmental
reactions to assess the effectiveness of perception-oriented activities.

,Systems Analysis and Operational Integration:

• Apply systems-thinking methodologies to understand interactions between human
behavior, technology, organizations, media ecosystems, operational activity, and
information environments.

• Translate abstract strategic objectives into actionable operational concepts, informational
constructs, and in uence-oriented activities.



Cross-Functional Collaboration:

• Collaborate closely with engineers, operators, analysts, behavioral scientists, intelligence
professionals, designers, media specialists, planners, technical experts, and leadership
teams.

• Facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders
to develop innovative approaches to complex strategic challenges.



Organizational Focus:

• Align perception-engineering activities with broader organizational, operational, and
national security objectives.

• Contribute to the development of organizational methodologies, frameworks, and best
practices related to perception-oriented operations and strategic in uence activities.
