DevOps Engineer (Junior to Mid Level)
R2DTS | Onsite (multiple location options) | Clearance Required: TS/SCI with CI Poly

We deliver cleared platform engineering, DevOps, Security, and AI/ML infrastructure for the Intelligence Community and DoD. As a small company, you'll work directly with leadership and your contributions will be seen.
The Opportunity
R2DTS has been awarded a new 7-year subcontract supporting a critical national security mission. We are looking for a DevOps Engineer who wants to grow their career on a long-term program. This role is a good fit for someone early to mid career who is eager to learn, takes ownership, and wants to build hands-on expertise in automation, CI/CD, and enterprise container platforms. We will invest in your training and certifications.
What You'll Do
• Build, maintain, and improve CI/CD pipelines that deliver applications to multiple Red Hat OpenShift clusters in a hybrid cloud environment and an NVIDIA GPU HPC cluster
• Implement GitOps workflows to manage application and platform configuration
• Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Ansible, Terraform, or similar tools
• Help development teams containerize applications and deploy workloads
• Integrate security scanning, image signing, and compliance checks into delivery pipelines (DevOps)
• Manage source control, artifact repositories, and container registries
• Monitor pipeline and application health, troubleshoot build and deployment failures, and help resolve incidents
• Administer and troubleshoot Linux systems, primarily Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)
• Document pipelines, procedures, and lessons learned
• Learn from senior engineers and contribute to process and tooling improvements
Required Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI with CI Polygraph clearance
• 1+ years of experience in DevOps, software build and release, systems administration, or a related field
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab CI, Jenkins, Tekton, or similar
• Working knowledge of Git and branching workflows
• Familiarity with containers (Podman or Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar)
• Basic automation and scripting skills (Ansible, Terraform, Bash, or Python)
• Hands-on experience with Linux (Red Hat preferred)
• A strong willingness to learn and a collaborative attitude
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform and OpenShift Pipelines or GitOps
• Experience with Argo CD or other GitOps tools
• Experience with Helm charts or Kustomize
• Experience with artifact repositories and registries (Nexus, Artifactory, Quay, or Harbor)
• Familiarity with security scanning tools (SonarQube, Trivy, Anchore, or similar)
• Red Hat certifications (RHCSA, RHCE, or OpenShift Administrator), or willingness to earn them
• DoD 8140 / 8570 compliant certification (for example, Security+)
• Experience working in air-gapped or classified environments
