Lead ServiceNow Platform Solution Architect

The Office of Inspector General, Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), provides comprehensive Information Technology (IT) services for approximately 2,000 end users across over 60 global locations. OCIO oversees and maintains all IT systems and communication capabilities supporting the OIG mission, including database administration, storage management, transition management, application services, mobile device management, IT asset management, domain services, network transport, and service desk operations.

The Lead ServiceNow Platform/Solution Architect serves as the senior subject matter expert for the ServiceNow platform within the OIG environment. This role will provide architectural oversight for the ServiceNow platform, including implementation roadmap development, integrations with authoritative enterprise systems, and platform lifecycle management. The ServiceNow Architect will work closely with business, cloud, application, cybersecurity, infrastructure, and data architects, as well as ServiceNow developers, administrators, engineers, and business stakeholders, to ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, IT Service Management objectives, and mission priorities.

Hybrid Work Schedule: This position offers a hybrid work schedule, providing flexibility to work both remotely and onsite based on business and team requirements.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the senior technical authority for the ServiceNow platform, establishing architectural standards, patterns, guardrails, and technical direction.
• Provide enterprise-level technical architecture, solution design, and platform governance for a complex enterprise deployment.
• Assess current and future-state ServiceNow architectural posture and define target-state designs to evolve maturity.
• Develop and maintain multiyear ServiceNow platform technical roadmaps aligned to strategic requirements.
• Provide architecture oversight across all major ServiceNow functional areas including ITSM, CSDM, CMDB, ITOM, integrations, data, security, AI capabilities, and solution delivery.
• Evaluate ServiceNow platform/product advancements and emerging technologies and fold applicable changes into architecture, maturity priorities, and roadmaps.
• Architect enterprise-level integrations and data flows between ServiceNow and other systems across the IT landscape.
• Conduct architecture and solution design reviews to ensure compliance with leading practices and ServiceNow standards.
• Coordinate technical decisions and architectural changes with Government stakeholders, ServiceNow representatives, enterprise contractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Ensure all solutions adhere to ServiceNow leading practices, security requirements, and enterprise design principles.
• Provide authoritative guidance in support of development, configuration, testing, release, and sustainment activities.

Qualifications

• Active Secret clearance.
• IAT Level II certification (e.g., Security+ CE or equivalent).
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, IT, engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of overall IT architecture, engineering, or platform leadership experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow architecture and solution design experience across multiple modules or enterprise-scale implementations.
• Proven experience establishing architectural standards, roadmaps, and enterprise technical patterns.
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow ITSM, ITOM, CMDB/CSDM, integrations, data models, security, and workflow design.
• Experience working in complex, multi-vendor, high-security enterprise environments.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interface with senior Government stakeholders and cross-functional teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• ServiceNow Certified Technical Architect (CTA) or Certified Implementation Specialist (multiple modules).
• ITIL v3+ certification.
• Experience with Now Assist / AI capabilities and Workflow Data Fabric concepts.
• Federal/DoD ServiceNow architecture experience.
