IT SPECIALIST (NETWORK SERVICES/SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATION)

Duties

As an IT Specialist (Network Services/Systems Administration), GS-2210-12, you will serve as the senior system administrator providing planning, directing, and coordinating of Command and Control (C2) missions systems' installation, maintenance and support. Serves as lead system administrator, trainer and supervisor, and provides Information Assurance (lA) support.

• The employee must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance within one year of appointment.
• The employee must obtain and maintain Security+ certification and may be required to obtain and maintain Linux+ or other certifications I.A.W. DoD 8570 and local requirements.
• This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
• 3+ years' experience with the Linux operating system is highly desirable.
• For positions requiring the operation of motor vehicles, candidates must have a valid state driver's license for the state in which they live or are principally employed.

Qualifications

GENERAL EXPERIENCE :
Experience, education, and/or training that has provided a basic knowledge of data processing functions and general management principles that enabled the applicant to understand the stages required to automate a work process. Experience may have been gained in work such as computer operator or assistant, computer sales representative, program analyst, or other positions that required the use or adaptation of computer programs and systems.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE :
Must have one year specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade that demonstrates responsibility for the overall planning and coordinating of the installation, testing, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of mission systems hardware and software. Experience serving as Network Administrator responsible for the overall integrity of the BCS-F networks and their ability to meet mission requirement. Demonstrated responsibility for overall training efforts, planning, and coordination of C2 systems' administrator and maintenance training for the Eastern Air Defense Sector. Experience serving as the Network Security Officer responsible for managing network security and protection, administering security measures and performing security auditing. experience ensuring compliance with governing directives on physical, operational, and communications security, implementing network security and protection.
