Position Location

This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO and Huntsville, AL.

Job Overview

The Engineering Technician IV performs assignments that are not completely standardized or prescribed, selects or adapts standard procedures or equipment, using fully applicable precedents, receives initial instructions, equipment requirements, and advice from supervisor or engineer as needed, performs recurring work independently.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties:

• Working with NIWC Pacific Engineering Technician IV, will provide engineering & support services for various C2 facilities throughout the period of performance. Services required include supporting Engineers in the AV design and installation of space operations centers fusing mission systems and ops center workstations in a manner that provides quick mission assessment and decisional information to adequately affect kill chain decisions.
• Support the preparation of pre-installation, test, and checkout documents of all new AV equipment components and subcomponents.
• Support Cataloging and archiving software media included and/or created for AV equipment.
• Support the Installation of AV equipment components and subcomponents in locations specified in the IDP or as otherwise directed by the Government.
• Support equipment Configuration within the integrated AV system.
• Assist in the Identification any materials incidental to the integration task not provided.
• Assist in system testing in accordance with established test plan to ensure total operation and functional AV System regarding compatibly with interfacing/interacting systems, subsystems, equipment, and computer programs.
• Provide Troubleshooting and advise corrective action for maintenance and operational issues that may arise.
• Assist with the application of STIGS (Security Technical Implementation Guides) on associated system AV Components
• Support Integration of AV switch matrix in NIWC identified spaces.
• Integrate and configure AV management software suite within identified systems.
• Test AV equipment and switch matrix plans for NIWC identified systems.
• Apply Security Technical Implementation Guides to all AV solutions.

• Ability to effectively communicate with all team members.
• Skilled in effectively managing and prioritizing taskings.

Job Requirements

Mandatory:

• Must have a High school diploma or equivalent GED and five (5) years in installation/integration experience.
• Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Must have a TS/SCI clearance.
• Must be willing to work extended hours including weekends and holidays as required.
• Must be a US citizen.
• Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.

Preferred:

• Associate Degree in Engineering Technology, or equivalent AND three (3) years of installation/integration experience.
• Experience in Audio Visual Engineering & Design well versed in AV Applications.
• Certified Technical Specialist (CTS) (AVIXA Certification).
• Certified Quality Technician - (CQT) (AQAV Certification).
• Extron AV Associate
• Extron Control Specialist
• Relevant AV Industry Certifications

Working Conditions:

• Position may be exposed to and is expected to protect internal/external confidential/unclassified information.
• Work is generally performed indoors (sedentary).
• Outdoor work, if any, is subject to temperature extremes and inclement weather conditions.
• Occasional travel may be necessary.

Physical Requirements:

• While performing duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand and/or walk for long periods at a time, sit, use of hands and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, climb ladders, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, or smell.
• May include lifting weight up to thirty (30) pounds as necessary.
