Data Engineer, Junior
Location: Reston, VA | Onsite
Clearance: Active TS/SCI with CI polygraph
Availability: Immediate
We are seeking a Data Engineer to analyze large volumes of radio frequency (RF) data and support technical collection systems. In this role, you will build data workflows, apply statistical methods, communicate findings, and contribute to system development and acquisition activities.
What you’ll do
RF data analysis: Extract useful information from RF data, develop and validate models, and apply statistical approaches to complex questions.
Data engineering: Automate and improve the extraction, cleaning, transformation, and analysis of large datasets, including multi-terabyte databases.
Statistical analysis: Use tools such as R, SAS, SPSS, or S-PLUS to analyze data. Write clear reports explaining your methods, results, and their impact.
Systems and acquisition support: Help develop technical collection concepts of operations (CONOPS), requirements, acquisition documents, and test plans. Support design reviews, contractor oversight, and evaluation of system performance.
What you’ll bring
A bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline; a master’s degree is preferred.
0–5 years of relevant experience, including recent data science or data engineering work.
Programming skills sufficient to extract, transform, and clean large datasets.
Experience processing or exploiting technical intelligence and producing findings for others to use.
Ability to work independently and explain technical work in writing.
