A leader in cutting-edge research and technology in the cyber arena, CPMG focuses on using business drivers to guide cybersecurity activities and manage risk. CPMG offers flexible, integrative solutions for Department of Defense (DoD) contractors, among others, and specializes in cybersecurity, information and operational technology, electronic security surveillance, and support services.

Summary:

The Program Analyst (PD) will perform a full range of duties supporting the Mission's overall work at the OAS, providing programming, research, writing, public diplomacy, public affairs, and coordination support across Mission priorities and activities.

Responsibilities

Essential Job Functions:
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on issues and developments under consideration within the OAS and associated inter-American institutions that are relevant to U.S. interests and mission priorities and activities.
  • Track activities of the OAS Permanent Council, Inter-American Council for Integral Development (CIDI), Committee on Administrative and Budgetary Affairs (CAAP), General Assembly, committees, working groups, and other OAS bodies and prepare summaries and background materials for Mission personnel.
  • Conduct research and prepare briefing materials, background papers, talking points, meeting summaries, presentations, and other written products to support Mission leadership and U.S. Government principals.
  • Support U.S. participation in OAS meetings, committees, negotiations, and General Assembly preparations by researching issues, preparing briefing materials and draft interventions, documenting discussions, and tracking follow-up actions.
  • Monitor implementation of OAS mandates, resolutions, declarations, initiatives, and other activities relevant to Mission priorities and prepare summaries or other reporting products as requested.
  • Provide substantive and organizational support for Mission public diplomacy and public affairs activities designed to advance awareness and understanding of U.S engagement with the OAS and broader Mission priorities.
  • Prepare draft speeches, remarks, talking points, presentations, fact sheets, briefing materials, and other public-facing or outreach materials for review by Mission personnel.
  • Support planning and implementation of Mission public diplomacy and public affairs programs, events, briefings, presentations, roundtables, and other outreach activities, including preparation of agendas, participant information, invitations, briefing materials, event documentation, and follow-up
  • Monitor OAS and Member State public statements, publications, events, programs, and other developments and identify information relevant to Mission public diplomacy and public affairs activities.
  • Support coordination with U.S. Embassies, the Department of State, and other U.S. Government stakeholders by compiling information, preparing draft materials, coordinating meetings, tracking requests and deadlines, and documenting follow-up actions.
  • Prepare summaries and analyses of meetings, conferences, events, and engagements involving OAS officials, Member State representatives, observers, civil society, international organizations, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain databases, trackers, calendars, contact lists, reference materials, and other reporting and organizational mechanisms supporting Mission priorities and deliverables.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support for official meetings, delegations, conferences, high-level visits, public diplomacy activities and other Mission events.
  • Provide surge support across Mission activities during periods of increased workload, including OAS General Assembly preparations, elections, major OAS meetings, negotiations, high-level visits, and Mission public diplomacy and public affairs events.

Qualifications

Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
  • Strong English verbal and written communication skills including drafting, editing, and verbal presentation.
  • Strong critical thinking and analytical skills (e.g. formulate a clear point of view on complicated issues and create a concise and well-written narrative to express it.)
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including active listening, persuasion, and an ability to work with individuals of all professional levels and of diverse experience. Able to gain consensus through well-reasoned arguments and influence, or pivot when warranted.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks under tight deadlines, coordinate activities in multiple locations, act decisively in daily work, and work well in a multicultural and virtual team environment.
  • Ability to work independently to assess priorities and coordinate daily requirements with minimal supervision
  • Basic understanding of federal government agencies and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of international economic policy, trade, development finance, energy policy, or Western Hemisphere affairs.
  • Experience conducting policy research and producing concise analytical written products for senior decision-makers.
  • Familiarity with multilateral organizations, diplomatic processes, and consensus-based negotiations.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as international relations, international development, political science, economics, Latin American or Caribbean studies, or related program, or minimum two-years college in a relevant field and two years relevant experience working in fields such as international relations, international development, political science, economics, Latin American or Caribbean studies or related program.
  • Secondary education and two years college level courses from an accredited institution in a relevant field such international relations, international development, political science, economics, Latin American or Caribbean studies, or related program.
  • Demonstrate minimum of four years (two years with bachelor's degree) of combined work experience in international affairs, such as working with U.S. embassies or volunteer organizations (e.g. Peace Corps) abroad, foreign policy NGOs or think tanks in the U.S. or overseas. A graduate degree in international studies or other relevant fields is acceptable in lieu of two years of experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise working with Microsoft office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams) to create professional and comprehensive documents and communicate with colleagues.
  • Must have a Secret Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Proficiency in Spanish strongly preferred; Portuguese desirable.


Pay and Benefits

The annual salary range for this position is $85,000 to $100,000.
