We are hiring a Senior Electronics Test Technician to support engineering, testing, troubleshooting, repair, modification, fabrication, and assembly of advanced electronic and electromechanical systems in a defense environment. This role requires a DoD Secret security clearance at time of hire and hands-on experience with component-level troubleshooting of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics using oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, multimeters, schematics, and technical documentation.

This role supports engineering laboratory and production activities involving prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment. The technician will diagnose electronic assemblies to the component level, identify root causes of failures, verify repairs through functional and environmental testing, and provide technical support to engineering, production, and quality teams.

Responsibilities:

• Perform component-level troubleshooting and repair of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power electronics assemblies.

• Support engineering activities including design, testing, checkout, modification, fabrication, and assembly of prototype electromechanical systems, experimental circuitry, laser/light transmission devices, and specialized test equipment.
• Analyze circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation to isolate electronic faults and determine corrective actions.
• Operate diagnostic and electronic test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters.
• Apply electronics principles including Ohm's law, Kirchhoff's laws, transistor theory, operational amplifiers, digital logic, and power conversion to troubleshoot equipment and circuitry.
• Identify failed or out-of-specification electronic components, including resistors, capacitors, diodes, transistors, integrated circuits, and power devices.
• Conduct functional and environmental testing to validate repairs and confirm equipment performance.
• Document failure modes, root causes, test results, repairs, and corrective actions in applicable maintenance or quality systems.
• Provide technical troubleshooting and test support to production, engineering, and quality teams.
• Assist with the development and improvement of troubleshooting procedures, test plans, repair instructions, and technical documentation.
• Fabricate simple hardware as required to support engineering and testing activities.

Qualifications:

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law
• Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance
• Associate's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
• Minimum 1 year of relevant electronics, engineering technician, test technician, or related technical experience.
• Proven ability to diagnose and repair electronic assemblies at the component level.
• Strong understanding of analog circuits, including amplifiers, filters, oscillators, and power supplies.
• Strong understanding of digital circuits, including logic families, microcontrollers, and communication interfaces.
• Knowledge of power electronics, including linear and switching regulators and motor drives.
• Proficiency with electronic troubleshooting tools and test equipment, including oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, logic analyzers, signal generators, and multimeters.
• Ability to interpret circuit schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Working knowledge of electronic components, circuitry, fault isolation, and repair techniques.
• Fundamental knowledge and proficiency in the use of related tools and equipment.
• Ability to fabricate simple hardware as required.
• Computer and electronic test equipment proficiency.
• 1st Class FCC license and Solder Repair certification may be required.
