IT SPECIALIST (INFOSEC)

Duties

• You will be responsible for large and difficult assignments that include planning, organizing and conducting comprehensive test and evaluation projects of information technology system, subsystems, and components.
• You will serve as a technical expert with other personnel and users in developing data systems, hardware, and software requirements, as well as, supporting evaluations and modifying the facilities to support test requirements.
• You will assist in developing and implementing NAVAIR command IT security policies, IT programs, and related procedures to fully meet NAVAIR, Navy and DOD INFOSEC requirements.
• You will assist in policies and procedures to ensure information systems reliability and accessibility and to prevent and defend against unauthorized access to systems, network and data.
• You will participate in network and systems design to ensure implementation of appropriate systems security policies.
• You will ensure implementation of security procedures, tools, the installation and integration of system fixes, updates and enhancements.
• You will assists in planning, directing, reviewing and/or managing IT risk assessments (RA), Security Test and Evaluations (STE), and Contingency Plans (CP).

• This is a Cyberspace Workforce position, work role code 112, proficiency level Intermediate the incumbent is required to obtain and maintain qualifications in DoDM 8140.03 Cyber Workforce Qualification and Department of Navy policies.
• Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.

Qualifications

Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or DS-04 pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
-Virtualization/hypervisor experience
-Networking experience
-Windows and Linux experience
-Backup and Recovery experience
-Storage Area Network (SAN) experience
-Change Management experience
