Job Description
Mindbank Consulting Group has an immediate need for an experienced AWS Cloud and AI Engineer to support a well-established organization that brings together technology, data, research, and analytics to solve complex challenges for government and commercial clients.
Location: Bethesda, MD
Work Arrangement: Hybrid — 2 days onsite / 3 days from home (no exceptions)
Contract Length: 6 Months with the possibility of extension
Compensation: $140,000–$155,000, based on candidate experience level
Employment Type: Direct-hire, W-2 only

You’ll work within a large, highly integrated ecosystem of applications and services, helping design and standardize cloud-based solutions while supporting application modernization and emerging generative AI capabilities.
AWS Cloud and AI Engineer Responsibilities
• Design, build, and standardize AWS implementations for a large ecosystem of applications being re-imagined on AWS.
• Support generative AI/RAG pipelines by collaborating with AI teams to integrate models and build scalable vector databases using AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock and OpenSearch.
• Build applications within AWS using a hybrid approach of new and legacy components to best fit budget, scope, and timeline constraints.
• Establish AWS infrastructure using scripts, adhering to best practices and incorporating AWS-suggested templates for compliance with standards such as NIST 800-53 and HIPAA.
• Set up a functional model for seamless script promotion through CI/CD pipelines from development to test, UAT, and production.
• Design AWS infrastructure and resources using Amazon CloudFormation templates.
• Migrate and convert data from legacy applications to new target application environments.
• Use discovery tools to define and develop customer requirements and pricing models.
• Develop automation solutions using Python, LangChain, and Terraform.
• Use Docker and Kubernetes to manage scalable services and endpoints.
• Apply data modeling fundamentals to support application and data solutions.
AWS Cloud and AI Engineer Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 3–5 years of professional experience with a combination of AWS-related roles such as working as an AWS Developer and AWS Architect.
• Experience building applications within AWS using a hybrid approach of new and legacy components to best fit budget, scope, and timeline constraints.
• Experience establishing infrastructure using scripts and following cloud best practices and compliance requirements.
• Experience setting up CI/CD pipelines supporting promotion from development to test, UAT, and production.
• Experience migrating/converting data from legacy applications to a new target application environment.
• Experience using discovery tools to define and develop customer requirements and pricing models.
• Experience designing AWS infrastructure using Amazon CloudFormation templates.
• Proficiency in Python, LangChain, and Terraform scripting for automation tasks.
• Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes for managing scalable services and endpoints.
• Solid understanding of data modeling fundamentals.
• Experience or exposure to generative AI/RAG technologies, including AWS services such as Amazon Bedrock and OpenSearch.
Preferred Qualifications:
• AWS certifications, such as AWS Developer and AWS Architect.
• Similar experience migrating on-premises applications to AWS.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in cross-functional product teams.
