Overview
The Information Technology Senior Consultant Level 5 serves as the lead engineer supporting CIS Infrastructure Services across multi domain datacenters and cross platform environments. This senior role provides advanced infrastructure engineering, virtualization and storage administration, cellular/wireless network support, and project leadership for medium to large IT initiatives defined by government stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead engineering efforts maintaining datacenters with multi domain, cross platform networks.
• Standardize and manage rack space, server hardware, and networking equipment including tracking, lifecycle maintenance, retirement planning, and procurement support.
• Install, configure, and support cellular and wireless networks, including switches, routers, gateways, servers, and large campus/system wide deployments.
• Provide administration for VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, vCloud Director, and NetApp storage (cluster, SAN, LUN, SnapCenter, SnapVault).
• Design, implement, and configure 2G, 3G, 4G/LTE cellular networks and associated wireless/GPS technologies.
• Install and configure network firewalls and support testing and validation activities.
• Manage workstation and server environments across Windows, Linux, Ubuntu, and Mac OS, including DNS, account administration, remote access, and APC remote power systems.
• Support cellular and wireless systems using SIM card technologies, Cisco wireless access points, and multiple cellular generations.
• Provide highly specialized technical solutions for complex IT problems involving infrastructure, storage, virtualization, and networks.
• Lead medium to large complex projects, including major phases of large scale IT initiatives.
Required Experience
• Demonstrated experience leading complex IT infrastructure projects and providing high level technical guidance.
• Expertise in:
o Senior Linux systems administration
o VMware vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, NSX
o NetApp storage systems (Cluster, SAN, LUN, SnapCenter, SnapVault)
o Server and hardware lifecycle management
o Firewall, switching, wireless, and cellular network configuration
o Operating systems: Linux, Windows, Mac OS
o Wireless technologies (2G/3G/4G, SIM cards, Cisco WAPs)
• Ability to architect, deploy, and sustain multi domain datacenter solutions across complex enterprise environments.
• Proven leadership directing medium to large technology projects and supporting government defined work plans.
Education & Experience Requirements
• High School Diploma + 20 years relevant experience
• Associate’s Degree + 15 years relevant experience
• Bachelor’s Degree + 12 years relevant experience
