As the Space and Counterspace Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Integration Team Lead supporting the National Space Intelligence Center (NSIC), you will spearhead an elite team of engineers delivering high-fidelity, scenario-based simulation capabilities that directly safeguard America's space-based assets. We are seeking an exceptional Modeling & Simulation Team Lead to join our team of innovative professionals. You will be responsible for leading a team of modeling and simulation engineers in the development, integration, and execution of complex modeling and simulation systems in support of national security missions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in programming languages, modeling tools, and working in multiple simulation environments, as well as excellent leadership, mentoring, and communication skills. Additionally, the candidate should have familiarity with Intelligence Community Directives (ICDs) and tradecraft standards.

What You Will Do
- Lead & Mentor: Stand up, guide, and develop a high-performing engineering team focused on building, integrating, and deploying mission-critical M&S systems.
- Architect & Integrate: Architect advanced simulation frameworks using C++, Python, Java, MATLAB, and SysML, integrating industry-standard tools including AFSIM, ITASE, STK, Cameo, and Simulink.
- Drive Strategic Analysis: Deliver refined technical assessments on threat capabilities, counterspace systems, weapon employment, and operational resilience.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with operational stakeholders, project managers, and acquisition sponsors to define technical roadmaps, project schedules, and budgets.
- Ensure Analytic Rigor: Maintain rigorous compliance with Intelligence Community Directives (ICD 203, ICD 206) and established tradecraft standards to ensure defensible, high-confidence results.
Candidate Profile
Basic Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Aerospace/Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related STEM discipline.
- Technical Breadth: Demonstrated proficiency in programming and modeling languages (e.g., C++, Python, Java, MATLAB, SysML).
- Simulation Toolkit: Hands-on experience integrating and executing frameworks such as AFSIM, ITASE, Systems Tool Kit (STK), or comparable COTS/GOTS tools.
- Leadership Track Record: Proven ability to manage technical teams, organize schedules and resources, and effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse technical and executive audiences.
- Intelligence Standards: Familiarity with Intelligence Community tradecraft standards and directives (ICD 203 / ICD 206).
- Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
- Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) in an engineering or technical discipline.
- Experience with High-Performance Computing (HPC), containerization (Docker), and cloud-hosted simulation environments.
- Working knowledge of Agile/DevSecOps practices and version control workflows (Git).
- Certified Modeling & Simulation Professional (CMSP) credential.
- Prior experience delivering M&S capabilities within the Intelligence Community (IC) or Department of Defense (DoD).

- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret / SCI security clearance.
- Required to handle and safeguard sensitive and/or classified information in accordance with regulations to reduce potential compromise.
- Drug Testing: This position has been designated by the Air Force as a Testing Designated Position (TDP) under the Air Force Civilian Testing Program
- May be required to work overtime on an unscheduled or emergency basis.
- Eligible for situational telework only, including Emergency and OPM prescribed "Unscheduled Telework".
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
- A bachelor's degree in engineering, science, mathematics, computing, physics, electronics, aeronautical/aerospace or related fields, from an ABET-accredited (for engineering) institution is required.
