Job Description

Duties

  • Manages maintenance for new/existing equipment and engineering changes.
  • Manages data for tools, spare parts, and components.
  • Supports maintenance planning and budget inputs.
  • Prepares Justification and approval documents for instrumentation and control hardware.
  • Reviews specialized equipment and electrical design features.
  • Troubleshoots issues across multiple production lines.
  • Recommends equipment modifications and user training.
  • Maintains and updates Programmable Logic Control (PLC) systems
  • Evaluates technical factors to select effective maintenance actions.
  • Approves repairs and engineering modifications.
  • Acts quickly during uncertain situations to maintain production.

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. If the security clearance is denied or revoked, the individual may be denied or removed from the position, accordingly.
  • This is an Army Acquisition, Logistics and Technology Workforce position. Selectee must meet position requirements for Life Circle Logistics Certification within 36 months of entrance on duty.
  • Must file financial statement.
  • Must obtain and maintain a Journeyman Electrician's License in the State of Arkansas after entrance on duty.
  • Muss pass pre-employment physical exam and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the ability to perform the duties of the position.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) resolving production line issues to ensure continuous operational performance; 2) managing maintenance activities of all equipment systems; AND 3) providing technical support for programmable Logic Controller installation. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
