Senior Product Designer
Secret clearance required to start
Newport News, VA – onsite
System One is seeking a Senior Product Designer to shape the applications, workflows, and user experiences supporting a U.S. Army enterprise data environment. You will work alongside software engineers, data engineers, product leaders, and Army stakeholders to turn complex operational needs into software that is clear, useful, and built for real-world use. This position requires an active Secret clearance.
This is a hands-on design role spanning product discovery through delivery. You will help define what should be built, create and test design concepts, and remain engaged as working software reaches users.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead product design for data- intensive applications and operational workflows.
• Work directly with user needs into product concepts, workflows, prototypes, and detailed designs.
• Partner with product and engineering teams to define requirements, evaluate tradeoffs, and deliver usable software.
• Plan and conduct user research, usability testing, and design validation.
• Simply complex data, processes and technical capabilities into clear user experiences.
• Contribute to shared design patterns and a consistent design system applications.
• Use feedback and product performance data to improve deployed capabilities.
• Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree in product design, interaction design, human-computer interaction, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Seven or more years of experience designing digital products or complex enterprise applications
• A portfolio demonstrating strong interaction design, systems thinking, and delivery of software used in production
• Experience conducting user research and translating finds into actionable product designs
• Experience supporting a Department of Defense customer.
• Active secret clearance.
