Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Ammunition Handler~ without more than normal supervision. I have the ability to perform common Ammunition Handler duties. I can: (1) receive shipments of small arms and ammunition; (2) locating and storing ammunition; and (3) completing and maintaining shipment and storage documents. I work under normal supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.

Additional information
- Check and verify documentation for the receipt, issue, live turn-in and residue turn-in of ammunition for accuracy.
- Store ammunition to include re-warehouse operations to increase space availability.
- Responsible for physical security of ammunition and work area.
- Update magazine data cards with inventory results in accordance with established procedures.
- Pack/repack ammunition with required markings and labels for serviceable excess ammunition/unserviceable and residue items being returned.
- Operate electric and diesel forklift trucks and government owned vehicles

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent is subject to tour of duty to cover a seven day work operation
- Position will require occasional evening, and/or holiday hours, to include mandatory overtime as mission dictates.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid state driver's license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain installation forklift training certification and license.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain ammunition certification in accordance with Army Materiel Command Regulation 350-4.
- Must successfully clear local screening check on Department of Army (DA) Form 7281 IAW AR 190-11.
- This position is a Testing Designated Position (TDP) subject to applicant testing and random drug testing as a condition of employment.
- The incumbent of this position must sign a DA Form 5019 as a condition of employment and shall be subject to periodic and random urinalysis drug testing as required by Army Regulation 600-85.
- Position is covered by the 1998 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- Pre-employment and annual physicals thereafter are required.

- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Stands, stoops, bends, and works in tiring and uncomfortable positions. May be required to work at a rapid pace for longer periods. Frequently lifts and carries material weighing up to 70 pounds, and at times may handle items weighing over 70 pounds. Moderate physical effort is used in generating forklift hand and foot controls while driving, turning, starting, and stopping the forklift truck and raising, lowering, and tilting loads being moved.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed both inside and outside but primarily in igloos/magazines, that are unheated, with concrete floors. Incumbent is subject to extreme caution due to the nature of items involved and must at all times adhere to fire, safety, and security regulations within assigned areas. Work requires handling hazardous materials, subject to exposure to explosive hazards and chemical fumes. Work requires wearing protective clothing such as steel-toed shoes, rubber gloves, face shields, and aprons.
