Position Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior High Performance Computing (HPC) Systems Administrator to support and maintain a large-scale HPC environment within a mission-critical government program. This role requires a seasoned Linux administrator with deep expertise in HPC operations, security compliance, system modernization, and customer support.
The ideal candidate will be capable of working independently to troubleshoot complex HPC systems, plan and implement upgrades, remediate security vulnerabilities, and provide technical guidance and knowledge transfer to customer system administrators.
Required Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+ Certification
- CompTIA Linux+ Certification
- 10+ years of High Performance Computing (HPC) experience
- Strong Linux system administration experience
- Experience maintaining and supporting large-scale HPC clusters
- Experience implementing and maintaining STIG compliance and security hardening
- Ability to independently troubleshoot complex system issues and develop technical solutions
- Excellent communication and customer-facing skills
Education & Experience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field with 12+ years of professional experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree with additional relevant experience, OR 15+ years of directly relevant professional experience in lieu of a master's degree

Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain a large-scale HPC cluster environment.
- Monitor system health, availability, and performance across the HPC infrastructure.
- Respond to customer requests, incidents, and operational requirements.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute operating system, software, and hardware upgrades.
- Maintain security compliance and remediation activities to ensure systems remain authorized on customer networks.
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve complex Linux and HPC-related issues.
- Perform security hardening and implement required STIG configurations.
- Provide technical support aligned with customer mission and business objectives.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and maintain strong customer relationships.
- Deliver knowledge transfer and training to customer system administrators.
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices relevant to HPC environments.
- Exercise independent judgment in developing solutions to highly complex technical challenges
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting classified government or defense environments.
- Knowledge of HPC scheduling and workload management tools.
- Experience with enterprise Linux distributions in secure environments.
- Familiarity with vulnerability assessments, patch management, and cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience supporting mission-critical compute environments with high availability requirements.
