Location: Rolling Meadows, IL (100% Onsite)
Must Haves: (non-negotiables for them to get the job - years of exp, technologies, tools, skills)
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline
• 3-5 years of RF Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related experience
• Experience supporting hardware development through the full engineering lifecycle from requirements through production
• Experience with RF hardware, electrical subsystems, or circuit board design
• Active Secret Clearance
Plusses: (skills/tools/abilities it'd be nice for someone to have, but not required)
• Prior defense, aerospace, or military systems experience
• Experience supporting RF product development programs
• Familiarity with RF testing, analysis, and troubleshooting techniques
• Experience participating in Preliminary Design Reviews (PDRs) and Critical Design Reviews (CDRs)
• Experience translating system requirements into hardware designs and test plans
• Knowledge of power electronics, digital electronics, or related electrical engineering disciplines
• Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Ability to independently manage multiple engineering priorities and programs
Day to Day:
Work as part of a highly collaborative RF Engineering organization supporting the design, development, testing, and integration of advanced RF and electrical hardware for mission-critical defense programs. Engineers will contribute throughout the full product development lifecycle, including requirements definition, hardware design, integration, validation, production support, and design reviews. The role involves hands-on laboratory work, RF testing and troubleshooting, technical documentation, and close collaboration with Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Systems Engineering teams to deliver high-performing solutions.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and analyze RF and electrical hardware solutions
• Support full product lifecycle activities from concept development and requirements definition through production support
• Develop, evaluate, and improve circuit board designs and electrical subsystems
• Perform RF and electrical testing, troubleshooting, validation, and root cause analysis in laboratory environments
• Participate in engineering design reviews, including PDRs and CDRs
• Collaborate with RF, Mechanical, Manufacturing, Quality, and Systems Engineering teams to meet program objectives
• Develop technical documentation, requirements, verification plans, and design artifacts
• Support integration, qualification, and production efforts across multiple active programs
• Assist with identifying and resolving design, test, and performance issues
• Contribute to multiple mission-critical development programs with evolving priorities and schedules
