SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT.
One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) Coordinating test requirements and/or supporting operational test and evaluation programs; and 2) Preparing plans, allocating resources, and/or managing teams to improve test and evaluation planning, execution, and/or evaluation; and 3) Directing preparation of test plans, managing long-range test programs, and/or formulating organizational strategies to utilize resources.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower pay band/ grade level position in the federal service (NH-03/ GS-13).
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required specialized experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Additional information
- Leads operational planning and coordinates test requirements with ATEC, HQDA, ASA(ALT), AMC, TACOM, and other commands to support Army and multiservice test programs.
- Develops policies and manages Directorate current operations, overseeing conferences, events, taskings, and maintaining operational data repositories for timely analysis.
- Plans, allocates resources, and manages long-range test programs, directing outline test plans, participation, and test engineering coordination to meet objectives.
- Supervises and evaluates staff, assigning work, resolving disciplinary issues, identifying training needs, and implementing long-range staffing and performance standards.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment. A background investigation and credit check are required.
- This position is subject to a Temporary Duty or business travel requirement of 40% of the time.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315. While probationary the incumbent can be terminated with limited appeal rights.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG). A one year probation to assess your ability to perform supervisory duties is required unless previously completed.

- The U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command (ATEC) is participating in an alternate personnel system known as the Acquisition Demonstration Project (AcqDemo). Among other features, the Demonstration Project replaced GS grade levels with occupational families and pay bands. The band NH-04 is equal to the former GS-14 Step 01 through GS-15 step 10. ATEC uses salary control points to allow for differentiation in the level of positions within the same broadband. Therefore, the salary for this position will be set no higher than $170,512 per year (Includes locality pay).
