We are seeking an experienced individual to join our teams as a Senior Systems Administrator. This position will report directly to the Director of Information Technology (IT) and work within IT department.
The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and performance of the enterprise server infrastructure. This position provides advanced technical support for Windows and virtual server environments, Active Directory services, enterprise storage, backup and recovery, and cloud-integrated infrastructure.

The Senior Systems Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, security, and performance of the enterprise server infrastructure. This position provides advanced technical support for Windows and virtual server environments, Active Directory services, enterprise storage, backup and recovery, and cloud-integrated infrastructure.
Other responsibilities may include:
- Administer and maintain enterprise Windows Server environments.
- Install, configure, monitor, and support physical and virtual server infrastructure.
- Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and identity services.
- Administer VMware vSphere and Proxmox virtual infrastructure.
- Support Microsoft Azure and Microsoft 365 cloud services.
- Perform operating system upgrades, patch management, and security remediation.
- Monitor system performance, availability, and capacity using enterprise monitoring tools.
- Troubleshoot complex server, storage, virtualization, and operating system issues.
- Maintain enterprise backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.
- Implement and maintain cybersecurity best practices in accordance with DoD RMF standards.
- Develop PowerShell and other automation scripts to streamline administration and operational tasks.
- Coordinate server builds, migrations, upgrades, and infrastructure refresh projects.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, and standard operating procedures.
- Collaborate with network engineers and cybersecurity personnel.
- Participate in scheduled maintenance windows and provide after-hours support as required.
- Mentor junior administrators and provide technical leadership on infrastructure initiatives.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, computer science, information technology, or related field required; additional work experience and/or education can be substituted and considered in lieu of degree.
- Eight (8) or more years of experience in computer systems, networking and information technology configuration.
- Proof of continued education, such as hardware and/or software certifications (Security+. CISSP, CASP+ CE, CCNA, Azure, AWS, etc.) required.
- Minimum DoDD 8140/8570 certification of Information Assurance Technical (IAT) – level I or Information Assurance Management (IAM) – level III
- Experience with Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Virtual hypervisors (such as Vsphere), Linux/UNIX administration, LAN/WANs
- Experience with software development (Scripting, Python, Java, etc.) preferred/desired.
- Extensive knowledge of cloud, on-premises, and hybrid services, as well as infrastructure and security domains.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop practical solutions.
- Must be able to lift/carry/move up to 50lbs.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment and manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
- Must be able to obtain or verify an active TS/SCI security clearance.
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
Preferred Qualifications
- CompTIA Security+ or equivalent security certification.
- Experience supporting enterprise storage technologies (SAN/NAS).
- Experience with Veeam enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- Experience with PowerShell scripting and infrastructure automation.
Salary Range
$130,000 - $165,000
