Job Description

Overview

This is an urgent requirement providing critical operational leadership, strategic integration, and Program Advisory and Assistance Services (A&AS) in support of the ML for our SDN mission area. As the Chief of Operations, you will serve as a key non-supervisory management official providing operational leadership and strategic integration for the Portfolio Acquisition Executive (PAE). Your primary responsibility will be to enhance organizational efficiency and accelerate the delivery of vital space-based sensing and targeting capabilities, with the ability to scale up to support the incoming O-6 as the organization transitions.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive schedule and calendar management support for leadership.
  • Deliver general action officer-type program support, managing workflow and coordination across multiple teams.
  • Act as the primary conduit for senior-level taskings, analyze complex requirements, and lead high-priority strategic projects.
  • Ensure all staff packages, executive briefings, and memoranda are thoroughly reviewed, coordinated, and aligned with the PAE's strategic objectives before presentation to senior leadership.
  • Serve as an authoritative representative in collaborations with internal and external partners, including Space Systems Command (SSC), HQ USSF, and other defense partners, to negotiate resources and resolve operational matters.
  • Design and implement operational policies and procedures to optimize staff execution and responsiveness.

    Skills Required

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) is required.
    • Minimum 10 years of experience supporting DoW, USSF, or federal administrative operations.
    • Mastery of program analysis, operational planning, and resource management.
    • Expertise in strategic integration and coordination across diverse, cross-functional teams.
    • Advanced knowledge of federal administrative regulations, staff routing workflows, and processes.
    • Exceptional executive-level written and verbal communication, presentation, and stakeholder liaison abilities.
      Desired Qualifications
      • Master's degree (MA/MS) is highly preferred.
      • Recent experience directly supporting Space Systems Command (SSC), HQ USSF, or national security space acquisition organizations.
      • Proven experience supporting senior military leaders (O-6 level and above) or senior civilian executives.

            Security Clearance & Salary
            • Active DoW Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility required.
            • U.S. citizenship is required.
            • Travel: Approximately 30 days per year may be required.
              Salary Range: $125,000 - $175,000/Year depending on experience level
