Job Description
The Software Systems Engineer will support the architecture, requirements development, integration, and verification of advanced space and ground-based systems. This individual will serve as the bridge between mission objectives, system architecture, and software implementation, ensuring traceability and alignment from high-level operational needs through development and test.
The ideal candidate possesses strong experience in requirements decomposition, MBSE, ground systems, mission management systems, command and control environments, and software integration/testing within Agile development organizations.
Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related STEM discipline.
• Active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
• Experience in Systems Engineering, Software Systems Engineering, or Mission Systems Engineering.
• Demonstrated experience translating large-scale system requirements into software requirements.
• Experience with:
○ Requirements development and allocation
○ Requirements traceability and validation
○ Interface definition and management
○ System architecture development
○ Technical trade studies
• Knowledge of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies.
• Experience supporting software integration, system testing, and V&V activities.
Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a highly collaborative environment.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience supporting:
○ Space Force programs
○ Satellite systems
○ Mission control operations
○ Ground segment systems
○ Command and Control (C2) systems
○ Mission management platforms
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) expertise.
• Experience with:
○ Cameo Enterprise Architect
○ MagicDraw
○ SysML
○ IBM DOORS / DOORS Next
• Modeling and simulation experience.
• DevOps and CI/CD familiarity.
• Experience supporting operational mission environments.
Active TS/SCI clearance.
This role is paying in a range from $80/hr up to $111/hr based on experience.
There is range flexibility with years of experience.
