OVERVIEW
The Cloud Software Engineer Level 4 provides advanced research, development, and engineering support for cloud based software systems. This role is responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and maintaining complex applications across Linux and Windows environments, supporting automation, containerization, CI/CD pipelines, and modern web interfaces.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
• Research and recommend visualization tools to support administration, security, and finance teams.
• Build, enhance, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for testing, building, and releasing cloud hosted software applications.
• Develop full stack web applications leveraging AWS services, enabling unified dashboards that support high value customer projects.
• Architect and maintain intuitive user interfaces for software managing large numbers of AWS accounts, improving cloud management and operational oversight.
• Write clean, maintainable, and scalable code while adhering to modern cloud and web development best practices.
• Integrate, deploy, and sustain software in containerized environments using Docker and container orchestration technologies.
• Collaborate with engineers, developers, and stakeholders to refine requirements, diagnose issues, and drive continuous improvements across cloud applications.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Demonstrated experience designing and developing software in Linux or Windows environments.
• 12+ years programming experience in at least one object oriented language (Java, Python, C++, Go) OR experience building large platforms using open source/commercial software and automation scripting.
• 5+ years hands on experience with Docker or containerization technologies.
• 7+ years deploying applications to container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
• Recent experience (within the last 1.5 years) developing cloud or platform level software solutions.
• Experience building automation frameworks, integrating cloud services, and supporting large scale, distributed systems.
• Ability to analyze and integrate open source technologies, diagnose issues, and enhance cloud based software systems.
SUBSTITUTIONS FOR REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
• Certified Kubernetes Application Developer (CKAD): May substitute 2 years.
• Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA): May substitute 2 years.
• Open source project maintainer experience: May substitute 1 year.
