In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience.
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Assisting in the design, coordination, and evaluation of joint concepts and joint doctrine to align organizational efforts with combatant command or joint-level strategic objectives; 2) Leading strategic or operational level working groups designed to facilitate organizational input to complex problem sets. 3) Preparing products for and briefing GO/ FO level senior leaders to enable informed strategic decision-making. 4) Participating in combat or peacetime joint military operations involving the employment of joint warfighting concepts. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
Education

- Lead command efforts in joint concept development, testing, and doctrinal updates, providing expert briefings to 3- and 4-star senior leaders.
- Ensure inclusion of operational context and command alignment in the joint concept development process.
- Provide authoritative policy and procedural guidance on emerging joint warfighting concepts and technologies to components and external agencies.
- Coordinate with command and higher headquarters stakeholders on joint concept wargame support, working group participation, and formal staff actions.
- Support command lessons learned, assessments, and doctrine development efforts.

- This position will require the employee to be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret Clearance.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program. Employee is required to sign a DA Form 5019-R and must pass a urinalysis test as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- May be required to work other than normal duty hours, which may include overtime, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
- This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
