Job Description

NineFX is seeking an experienced System Engineer Level 3 to provide senior level technical leadership across complex DoD/IC systems. The SE3 will analyze requirements, lead systems engineering activities, guide integration efforts, and ensure the technical integrity of enterprise scale systems throughout their lifecycle.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

o Administer, secure, and optimize RedHat Linux systems; ensure reliable operations across servers, storage, networks, and mobile devices.
o Lead SE activities including requirements analysis, functional allocation, architecture development, verification planning, and system design.
o Manage system/derived requirements and ensure alignment with DoDAF/SOA architectures.
o Support IT system implementation, troubleshooting, capacity planning, and lifecycle maintenance.
o Participate in IPTs, design reviews, program reviews, and CCB activities; ensure cross discipline coordination and resolution.
o Develop and maintain SE documentation (SEPs, ICDs, WBS inputs, requirement specs, interface definitions).
o Define verification methods, conduct time line/function flow analyses, and support DoD C&A processes.
o Direct engineering, integration, testing, and full end to end system performance analysis.
o Conduct risk management, system trade studies, and quantitative analysis (Reliability/Maintainability/Survivability).
o Implement SOA solutions, DoDAF views, and maintain technical baseline integrity throughout lifecycle.


REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS & EDUCATION

o Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (must already be held – no sponsorship)
o Bachelor’s degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline. (May substitute 5 additional years of SE experience for degree.)
o IAT Level II (Security+ CE, GSEC, CySA+, CCNA Security, GICSP)


REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

20+ years of Systems Engineering experience on programs of similar scope, type, and complexity (DoD/IC preferred).
o Extensive experience leading SE efforts, developing architectures, guiding integration, and providing technical direction.
o Demonstrated expertise in:
• DoDAF aligned architectural development and SOA implementation
• Requirements management, derivation, and traceability
• Developing system concepts, alternative architectures, and design solutions
• Interface definition, control, and configuration management
• Verification planning, testing oversight, and system baseline maintenance
• Risk identification, analysis, mitigation strategy development
• End to end system analysis across hardware, software, personnel, and operational components
o Proven ability to coordinate cross discipline activities and serve as a key member of a Configuration Control Board.
o Experience supporting DoD Certification & Accreditation, JCIDS documentation, and government engineering standards.
o Strong background in Linux systems administration, integration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
